"A lovely stay, beautiful location so private. One little downside being it’s not a quick walk to a shop however this is the price you pay when it’s so private and secluded. The town is only a 5 min drive. Only thing about the house that’s missing is a hot tub. Overall a 9/10 stay those little complaints are being absolutely picky if we are being honest"

"Beautiful character hotel, plenty of parking and a steam railway next door. Check-in was friendly and very efficient, the room was clean and very comfortable, and dinner was excellent- really tasty and a good choice of dishes at a fair price- one issue; put the main course on a plate- the bowl makes it tricky to use a knife and adds nothing to the dish (on the plus side, at least it wasn't on a slate or an old breadboard!). Breakfast was individually cooked and tasty, but I should have liked more than the one and a half mushrooms- next time I'll ask for a couple more! Overall, this was as near a perfect stay as one could reasonably hope for; all the staff were friendly and efficient and my small observations are not meant to detract from my visit in any way. I am looking forward to going there again later this year."

"The staff were helpful and friendly from the moment I arrived. I had lovely clean comfortable room which was serviced every day. The atmosphere in the bar was great, as was the food and breakfast was freshly cooked when you ordered it. There was even a place undercover to park my motorbike. I enjoyed my stay immensely and won’t hesitate to return."

"Facilities are good, location great for variety of activities. Good hot tub and sauna. However, the Double room at the front of the house had hair in the bed, mixed into the duvet and on the pillows. It looked like cat or dog hair and the bed hadn't been changed. The rug in the living room was hazardous and needs to be stuck down. The house in general was tired with the walls needing a touch up of paint, the conservatory was green with damp and the walls had cobwebs. The wooden floor boards were also separating which was a trip hazard and the lack of mats in the house for wet shoes from the hot tub. The mattresseses were uncomfortable. The radiator in the master bedroom made loud noises during the night, probably needs bleeding. A dressing gown had an unpleasant and suspicious brown stain! Sink in the ensuite is leaking at the bottom."

"Lovely house and location. Unfortunately the showers could all benefit from some maintenance. There was no heating in the twin bedroom downstairs and the en-suite shower in that room had a blocked drain. The wood burner made for a cosy living room. Overall this property was super for a large family group. It would be excellent given a bit of maintenance"
