"We had 4 rooms and 3 generations of family staying for one night for our son's 30th birthday. The rooms windows did not open despite signs saying they did, and some of our party were uncomfortably warm overnight. There was one person on reception for check in. We were fortunate, only waiting 15 minutes, but at a time when there was a wedding and also a function on, as well as dozens checking in it seemed strange not to have more personnel manning the desk. The residents bar closed at 10.30pm and my daughter had to go to the function bar to get a round of drinks in, one German guest who had gone outside for a cigarette didn't make it back in time for a whisky, which he'd been looking forward to. Having said that the breakfast staff were wonderful and the breakfast buffet was very comprehensive, the hotel is just outside Aviemore and has plenty for kids to do (we had 4 aged 5 and under), but the pool had been closed the day we arrived. All and all we are unlikely to be back as apparently the heat in the bedrooms is a common complaint and nobody could explain why the bar closed that early."

"Great location. Well maintained property. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy and nicely decorated. Washing machine and dryer were pay to use and available on site. The host was quick in answering my query. A few points for improvements. The bathroom had no hangers or towel rail to hang any towels etc to dry. Also it would be nice to have wardrobes in bedrooms to hang clothes or over door hangers. If you like your windows open be warned the are a lot of small flies around that will get in. No basic essentials like tea, coffee, milk, kitchen roll so stock up before you arrive. If youâ€™re staying Friday/Saturday try The Burger Box food trailer on site - highly recommend their burgers, loaded fries and chicken tenders ðŸ˜Š"
