Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites Midvalley

6/10 Okay

"We usually like to stay at this Crystal Inn but this time wasn't the best. Check in was good. Our room was pretty good. When we got in the room there was some black gunk in one of the sinks. We thought gross but just washed it down the sink. The next morning the black gunk was back. The beds were comfortable. We had to leave by 6:15 am the following morning so we got up early and went to shower and the water was lukewarm at best. Not a fun way to start the morning. We had a quick breakfast before we left and it was good. Lot's more stuff than a continental breakfast."

"Beautiful clean room with a patio to enjoy the mountain air. There was an issue with our reservation- we reserved a 2 queen bc it was me my partner and his brother staying there, but when we got there, they only had a single king. The staff was helpful upgrading us to a 2 room suite to fit our situation, so we appreciated their flexibility and willingness to help."

"If you're visiting SLC, do NOT stay here! When I got to my room the shower pressure was very poor and the water was barely getting lukewarm. When I went to tell the staff they were very receptive and said that a maintenance person would be able to service it. This was great news to me because I was going to be out in the city all day and would be out of the hotel room for about 6 hours or so. They also said it should definitely be ready by the time I get back. When I get back the shower handle and the hardware were completely taken apart and just put to the side. There was no note or anything saying. My initial thinking and hope was that they just stepped out for a second and I caught the shower in a bad state. I go downstairs to tell a worker and he comes with me to see the state of the shower and says that I'll be getting a room transfer and to just wait for a call. 30 minutes go by and nothing. I go downstairs to tell the receptionist and she says there's no rooms available and that she'll get in contact with the maintenance person to fix the room. So I'm waiting in my room exhausted and just wanting to get some rest but hear nothing for over an hour! I go back downstairs and she finally says that she'll transfer me to another room. When I go to the other room there is another person there!!! I felt so extremely bad because that person is probably scared and worried. I of course go back downstairs and get a new room but by that point I'm just fed up. DO NOT STAY HERE!"
