"We normally come all the time and it is a lovely place to be and staff are amazing and lovely. But this stay was our worst one yet. There was bugs all over our bed. Stains all over the carpet and the room had a foul smell to it like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. "

"Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume. There’s clearly little to no sound insulation, as it felt like the noise was coming from inside the room. Housekeeping was also lacking. Despite leaving a sign on the door requesting the room be cleaned, it wasn’t reset after the first night and towels weren’t changed. Small details were missed too, like no cups provided for the kettle and tea-making facilities. For the price, it’s not the worst place to stay, but the noise and lack of attention to basic service would put me off returning."

"Beautiful cottage which was perfect for visiting family in Chorley and Bolton. We stayed at the beginning of December and it was decorated for Christmas which was a wonderful surprise when we arrived. Vicky was very friendly and quick to respond to questions ahead of arrival, Will definitely look to stay again next time I’m visiting family. The EV charger was also really helpful to have available when staying."

"Lovely place to stay perfect base to get to places. Hosts helpful & welcoming would recommend highly. Well equipped cottage so have everything you need if you wanted to stay put, easy access from property to walks canals locks. Lots of helpful information supplied to suggest places to go places to eat, very happy to stay here again"
