"The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only negative thing was that other guests were loud, when they walked in the hallway you could hear all the noise and it was disturbing during the night."

"We stayed for graduation weekend at Cate. The staff was great. However, the hotel was understaffed. Here are problems: 1. The refrigerator in our room failed before we got to the room. It leaked water on the floor. They tried to vacuum the carpet but it was still wet. Nothing like walking across a wet carpet in bare feet. They could not give us another room as they were totally booked. 2. They could not keep coffee on the first floor in the morning. Lots of disgruntled guests waiting for coffee. 3. They closed the restaurant for breakfast. Again, understaffed. 4. Hotel appears to trade profit for upset guests due to understaffing. On my wet floor all they had to do is turn in insurance claim and they could remove water from floor. They lose a deductible. 5. They know of influx in guests and appear not to hire staff to accommodate. More staff more money and lost profit."

"This is such a hidden jewel. I hesitate to write such a good review because I want to keep it secret. But truly, it was such a wonderful place for us to visit. We live in town so we had a little staycation and it was just perfect. Mark was so great and easy to communicate with. We loved our place and it was walking distance to everything. It made a gathering we had at the beach so wonderful because we were able to run back-and-forth, if we needed anything. We will definitely stay again."

"We found this little condo sparkling clean, lovingly decorated, and well equipped. It’s a small space but very comfortable for my sister and I. It’s more like a studio-plus, so sister took the bed and I used the couch. The couch was amazingly comfortable-I slept really well every night! The property as a whole is very pretty and well maintained. The beach is very close, just down the stairs and across the street. Our host, Chris, was easy to reach and was kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again! "

Carpinteria Apt w/ Hot Tub - 10 Min Walk to Beach!

"Our family took a quick weekend away up in Carpinteria. We have visited many of the other beach towns along the coast, but had yet to visit here. The home was aptly described and very walkable to restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream, and even vinyl. We enjoyed our time, but had a major problem with a non-functional refrigerator. One of our favorite things to do on these home stays is to cook and eat together as we have so little time in our regular routine. We purchased food for the weekend and stored it in the fridge before finding out the the fridge was not keeping our food cold. Our host Jana was very communicative and we followed steps of purchasing dry ice at Smart and Final while unplugging the fridge for the entire night. Unfortunately, the dry ice froze some of the food, the rest spoiled, and the fridge still didn't function in the morning. Jana reimbursed us for the dry ice and our spoiled food, but it definitely dampened our fun weekend and we had to spend more money on eating out. We go on vacation to de-stress but this added to it. Overall, we did the best we could and tried many of the neighboring restaurants. There are plenty of them! The hosts are purchasing a new fridge for future guests, but that did not help us during our stay. So, overall we enjoyed our time, but it could have been better."

"We loved the location of this place. Food and coffee so close. Easy walk to the beach and very easy to find. Great use of the space with being able to fit up to 6 even though it’s only a one bedroom. Large bathroom. So cute inside with the way it was designed and decorated. "
