"Lovely setting with superb gardens, streams with waterlillies and bridges. Superb staff. Nicely renovated bathrooms. Room wasn’t what I booked and although it was technically a more expensive room I would definitely prefer the high ceiling of the room I booked. Room smelt a bit musty. Great paddle boards and kayaks etc. Pool could do with solar heating during winter months. Muri is a fun place to stay with everything on your doorstep including coffee, restaurants and a night food market, as well as Motu’s - just not a snorkelling spot - but you don’t have to go far for that."

"Possibly the best beach in Rarotonga. Friendly staff. Nice pool area and a great location near shops and restaurants. We booked a beach front bungalow. The beach front bungalows are split in 2 sets: 3 or 4 in the immediate beach front, and another 3 set further back with a view not as great as the full beach front, unfortunately we were assigned one of the furthest ones. Should you book a beach front bungalow you may want to inquire if a full beach front is available. Maybe those could be named beachfront and sea view to avoid disappointment. Overall a lovely place to stay and we would happily stay there again."

"Raina is very conveniently located opposite a great snorkeling spot (Fruits of Raratonga). and 200m from Charlies - a great place to eat and relax and gaze out over the lagoon. The gardens are lovely and lush with beautiful plants and flowers and there are loungers to relax on. Bus stop just outside. Owner and staff were friendly. We were a little disappointed that our room with partial ocean view had a very limited view (being on the ground floor and across the road from the sea). Had we known we probably would have booked a garden room as the glimpse is so restricted. The room was very big with lots of space to spread out in. Be aware that the bathroom is quite basic and the water pressure for shower is low. There is a community hall across the road and on Mon and Weds there is a gym class with very loud music from 6 am. Ok if you have earplugs or are up early. We would stay here again. It would be great if they had bikes for hire. You could use the owners car for a fee but bikes are ideal for getting around the island."

"Take ear plugs! The Roosters never shut up! The facilities are basic, but clean and OK. Pool is OK as long as large groups don't take over. Nautilus staff we found dismissive, Muri staff more pleasant. BBQ area is nice but the hot plates are old and barely heat meaning without an over, self catering is challenging. Good proximity to beach and great use of snorkles / kayak / reef shoes etc."
