Nothing! It was cold, dark, gloomy. No activity on arrival. Underground car park disgusting, leaves and rubbish everywhere. Paint peeling off the underground carpark walls and stains. Lifts unkempt! Carpet in corridor stained and dirty so more in the room! Mould on grout in bathroom tiles. Very old and outdated! Towels stuffed around frame on window to stop air or rain coming in. View unpleasant, construction taking place adjacent to hotel. No guest information. No idea how to contact reception using phone, no numbers displayed. I had to take a lift down to reception every time I wanted something. No mini bar? Isn’t that a part of staying in a hotel? No exhaust fan in bathroom! No microwave or toaster? No cover over quilt!…why? Not sure if there was room service if you wanted light snacks? Like I said before part of the experience staying in a hotel. Was never told about paying extra money to park my car. I did manage to get the staff not to charge me for another day because of unforeseen circumstances I had to stay an extra night and he wanted to charge me more for the extra night! The cleaning door along the corridor was open the entire two days I was staying, not a pleasant sight! One of the reasons I booked the hotel because Rydges is a well known and respected hotel but when I arrived it was The Miller? If I known this I would have chosen a different hotel to stay…feel deceived and taken for granted!
