Very neat hotel in the end of the peninsula. Close to the airport (no shuttle). Very cool restaurant next door by the lighthouse. Possibility to see the Northern Lights.

This is a great hotel near the ocean. Great to see northern lights. It was cloudy and I saw them through the open spots in the clouds. Very good food in the restaurant. Great breakfast! Saw a great sunset. Spacious and peaceful!

Fantastic hotel, welcoming, helpful and friendly staff, great breakfast, lovely evening meals, brilliant big room (stayed in the family room), views of the sea and lighthouse, and in the distance the mountains. Saw the aurora, even just looking out of the window. Loved it! Would definitely stay there again!

Great find 10km from airport. We booked this hotel for convenience to airport for early flight. What we got was a really enjoyable experience in scenic location with lighthouse, cafe and small museum walking distance. Also as we were leaving too early for breakfast they gave us a packed lunch which was much appreciated.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable three days at the Lighthouse Inn. The staff was so helpful and friendly, they took care of every need we had swiftly, big or small. Our flight got in very early in the morning, and they were able to get a room ready in under an hour. We had a slight issue with the shower on day one and it was sorted out straight away. The food was lovely, the views are unbeatable, and we even saw Northern Lights at least a little each night. I will definitely be recommending this property and hope to come back next time I’m in Iceland!

Check-in was easy and the room was large and spacious. The breakfast was easy and convenient and coffee was available in the lobby 24/7. The only negative I have is that it was not advised to made reservations at the restaurant and when we arrived they would not take us but luckily there was one restaurant open in the next town over.

Lovely hotel - so close to the airport
Considering the area has no hot water (due to the volcano) we had a lovely and warm stay :) staff were super friendly and hotel quite lovely. We didn't brave a cold shower in the end! Glad we kept our booking :)

Staff was very helpful from weather warnings to Northern Lights advice. Chef was excellent and he came in on a day off so guests would have a dining option in bad weather.

Lovely friendly staff, quaint hotel in a beautiful setting. We didn’t stay for long just one night with an early airport start but they prepared sandwiches, fruit and juice For us to take with us at 4:30am which was so appreciated!

Such a peaceful location and I was pleased at how well maintained the parking lot was, as many other hotels we stayed at had parking lots so full of ice and slush to walk through with luggage. The room was so comfortable and we enjoyed having the ability to make a cup of coffee in room. We also enjoyed how quiet the rooms were, we felt like we were the only ones there, and yet the parking lot was full so we knew rooms were full. The breakfast buffet and particularly the waffles were delicious. This was our second stay at Lighthouse and it won’t be our last!

Everything was great. The staff was very friendly, especially Matilda at the front desk. The Northern Light were out the night we stayed. If only we could find a way to dim down the beacon light at the light house! It made it challenging but we could still see them and take great photos.

I give 5 stars to this hotel because is a very nice place to stay. 15 to 20 minutes from the airport. It is very quiet. The restaurant there is 10 stars, we had a fantastic dinner, food was amazing. The guy who runs the restaurant was very friendly. 💯 recommended. 3 minutes walk from the lighthouse, the view was beautiful!!

Perfect for a late arrival and aurora
Beautiful hotel with 24 hour desk. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful location with little light pollution and even less if you take the short walk up to the lighthouse. We were so lucky with the northern lights but this is surely one of the best places to see them

Best place to stay !
Stayed with my brother and his two daughters to celebrate his 60th. He had the Northern Lights on his bucket list and the hotel was the perfect spot and saw them every night. The staff were amazing with a special mention to Matilda on reception, who gave us some suggestions of sights to see. The rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. Shower was hot and strong. There is a small fridge and many options on the tv. I logged into my Netflix account. The breakfast was the best thing, fruit, cereal, juice, yogurt, fresh bread, croissants, cheese, ham, tomatoes, eggs, bacon, sausages, beans ….. I could go on! Yum!! Great place to explore the south west, aurora, waterfalls, volcanos and Blue Lagoon (closed at our visit ☹️) and Reykjavík close with Sky Lagoon, whale watching and lots of tourists attractions and great food. If you’re going to Iceland stay here!

A beautiful and incredible hotel! Our room was overlooking the sea and was a perfect place to spot the aurora. Gardur is the perfect location, a lovely quiet place with plenty of facilities and only 45 min from Reykjavik, 2 hours from Southern Iceland and 15 min from Keflavik. The breakfast was incredible and the hotel restaurant is a must - try the fish of the day!

From the very moment we stepped in the staff was very welcoming. Both staff, morning and evening, were extremely helpful and welcoming. They answered questions on tours, Northern Lights and other recommendations. The room was spacious and clean. We stayed in room 105. There’s plenty of parking, sitting area and a pool table. The hotel is about a 5 minute drive to the lighthouse and the town is well lit and clean. There are many restaurants and shops near worth checking out, about a 15 minute drive. Just Google restaurants near me. You’ll have many options. The only complaints the noise from the other rooms at all hours and the restaurant food is very expensive. The breakfast was good, buffet style. I would definitely consider staying there again and highly recommend to anyone wishing to find a friendly, helpful staff.
