"Little dated with a few items broken or not working as designed."

"The host came and spoke to us asking about our two dogs we had with us during our stay. He was somewhat upset and rude. We were told the hosts were fine with dogs, however we needed to let them know beforehand and us bringing them would attract an additional fee. This was not mentioned anywhere in the Expedia listing and we were taken quite aback as we had no knowledge of this rule. The owner also told us he would lock up their pet chickens during our stay. Unfortunately they continued to return inside the fenced area, making it impossible to let our dogs roam outside. The owners dog also spent time outside close to the fence line. We wouldn’t suggest bringing your dog(s) unless they are fine with chickens and other dogs. We also unknowingly reversed our car directly outside the property onto a landing/entrance area which contained some convict bricks. The host again was quite upset with us and abruptly asked us to move, we in turn sincerely apologised for this (a note to future guests to park on the gravel only). These few points put a dampener on our stay which otherwise could have been very nice. A nice, private, quiet location. "

"Accommodation was exactly as described. Beautiful location right on the water, lovely surrounding gardens. Accommodation was excellent had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Owners were very friendly. Would definitely recommend & stay again if in the area. "

"As seasoned travelers over decades, both within Australia and OS, we had high expectations for this 2-night stay which were not met, given the price point. This was not a cheap stay, but we were happy to pay for a different 'experience'. Nice area but! The obvious things included unlike what was advertised about "Free Wi-Fi. Available in the cottage" it didn't exist. We didn't even have mobile reception unless we walked to the 'Telstra pole' (their written advice in room) at next property where Wi-Fi materialized. Cottage 1: here are just a few of the more obvious things: shower water goes everywhere/towels need to be on the floor to collect the water, sink plug doesn't work, Daiken AC does not work properly: needs at least a good clean: we tried multiple times to get it working with no luck (our homes over the years have had Daiken: brilliant AC normally) & the afternoon heat on the glass panels turns the main room into a hot room: not good when the AC is playing up: might be great in the depths of winter: the cottage badly needs an update. In short, we didn't think the owners had put much effort into checking our cottage before our arrival to ensure it was ready. Two other mentions before we close. The Sharp TV was old & useless: few channels only & the bed was hard/sheets/covers barely average quality. Being underwhelmed & generous we rate this a 3: we cannot recommend this nor; will we be back again. It could of & should have been a much better stay, for the price. "
