We have stayed. before over the years. It was good to see that it has been refurbed , plus the evening meals are better, for us it is convenient and we will stay again

The room was good, food was good , beer was expensive, offers available for food and drink for 2 people, double bed was a let down, 2 single mattresses put together wasnt very comfortable.

Managed to get booked into here after returning from holiday so we could visit family whilst in the area, the hotel were great allowed us to book in at 11am rather than 16.00. Immaculate room.

very noisy room above bar lounge and manager refused to move us. beds old and saggy. disco below us until midnight so we had to stay out until it had finished. this is a pub with rooms and not a hotel. bed bug trap under the bed !!!!

The only poor thing was the Internet which was sky cloud I open an account after it takes all my info and then when try to log in it says not recognised try with different emails and got same result. Other than that it was good for the price

Not a great night sleep
The room was comfortable and clean, besides the lamp above the bed, when turned on you can see dead insects… not great. The evening meal was good and I payed 5£ for the continental breakfast. I stayed over for a business trip and therefore went to sleep early. At 9.30pm I was awakened by knocking on the door with the arrival of my breakfast. This is not acceptable to know I on a guests door at this time of night. Moving forward I suggest that breakfast is delivered a lot earlier. Once woken up there was a lot of banging doors up until about 12. Very bad night sleep.

Hotel fine - just don’t arrive hungry…
Slightly tired looking but functionally Ok. Main disappointment was food provision. Despite checking in at about 8.32 pm I was told flatly that food finished at 8.30. Breakfast was then just a cold option as the kitchen didn’t open until 10 which wasn’t clear in the booking. Overall hotel was clean and comfortable enough - just don’t arrive hungry!

Beautiful rural location. One of the best nights sleep ever. Food was traditional and lovely. Staff were both friendly and very professional. My sister and I would definitely stay there again.

Basic at best
The bedroom was nice and clean but the bar food was poor. The nachos starter was plain unheated tortilla chips, very runny cheese and 2 dollops of guacamole and salsa. They forgot about my main meal which eventually arrived and was ok at best. Worse of all......they could only offer a boxed breakfast of a cereal and a croissant..….didn't offer a sit down breakfast, no cooked breakfast and not even a continental breakfast!!!

The room was small but adequate and clean. My issues are that there was an extractor vent close to the window that prevented sleep until turned off at 2330hrs. The hotel was also advertised as providing breakfast. I found in the room notes that this was just a “breakfast box” but, as the staff hadn’t confirmed that I wanted it, there was no breakfast available. I wouldn’t choose to return.

Lovely hotel and excellent staff!!
On first impressions the hotel is set in leafy gardens, I was greeted by one of the most pleasant girls who booked me in, took me to my room - offered to help with my bags. My god I was shocked, normally you are just pointed in the right direction. The room was small but spotless and everything I could want, even a tiny fridge. After the even I was attending I returned to the hotel, the night porter was still as helpful. The only one thing wrong was the heat of the room, there is no air conditioning. A fan is provided in the room! However with the gorgeous thick duvet it was one or the other. I stayed over a weekend, late check out and what I can say is on of the best cooked breakfast I have eaten in a long time. Well to to an excellent team.

Nice friendly place to stay.
Had stayed here before previous owners took over, the change is amazing, it is so much brighter and welcoming, the service was first class, the food was great and there was a nice atmosphere in the lounge area. would definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

Nice quiet stay.
Receptionist was fantastic, first time for years I have been shown to my room in a UK Hotel. Restaurant was not so clever, I sat and waited while the waitress continued to chat to the barman ignoring the fact I was there even after getting up and taking my own cutlery and condiments to the table. Eventually I went to the bar to place my order.

Not what it used to be
Having stayed here three times previously and despite a few niggles always been good. Booked to stay once more and under new management, didn’t realise. Very busy bar packed with people. The room above the bar meant we had no sleep as the music didn’t stop until gone midnight. And we’re not old! Food took forever to come and very disappointing. Music started again at 7.30am below in the bar area. Probably cleaners but on a Sunday morning not really acceptable to have music on quite so loud. Heard everything in our room. Check out was abrupt. Simply left the key. Couldn’t tell you who the manager was. Never saw them. Keep this up and you’ll soon be out of business! Won’t stay again.

Stayed too celebrate mums 90th birthday staff very helpful, rooms comfortable. My daughter in law needed daily visits from nurse at 7.30 each morning which was no problem to hotel. Food good. We would have liked to have breakfast one morning but had not ordered so not available, only disappointment with stay but understandable as hotel very small. Good value and would stay again

Very nice hotel with friendly staff , Evening meals & breakfast are excellent , only problem stayed here when it was very hot & the bedrooms receive full sun all day with no air con & windows that only open a couple of inches the rooms get very stuffy making it uncomfortable to sleep a fan was supplied when asked which helped a little.
