Very Basic, just a room in a house, not exactly a hotel, OK for one night stay or long term lodging accommodation. too expensive for the type of room £60, over price, would be better @£40

We are very disappointed in this guest having put ourselves out for a late arrival. Complete lack of communication. We are not a hotel and do not advertise as such..

Barry gives you a warm welcome to his traditional property with a well stocked kitchen and large bathroom. It's about a ten minute walk from this quiet back street to St Alban's Cathedral and the city centre. Very comfortable. Very good wifi and TV in your room. Highly recommended.

Not posh,! Fully functional kitchen well-stocked ( bread, milk, drinks, fruit, cereal and more!) beds clean and comfortable, near town centre. Carpark opposite . Reasonably priced ! what more do you need?!

This guest booked late, and arrived even later .Made arraignments for the guest to let themselves in Apparently found a mark on a pillow which we can only apologise for, ,but there where four pillows to choose from if needed.. Received message 23.07 saying they could not stay.! We like constructive comments, good and bad as we can then act on them.

Home away from home
Barry was a wonderful host, he provided a cot for our baby and there is a full kitchen at your disposal. Close to everything, comfortable and clean! Perfect.

We are sorry this guest was not happy .Obviously did not read the details that guests do have to share the bathroom ,and kitchen some times .Unless they have taken the whole apartment. Maybe we just did not suit there requirements.

Stayed just for one night, which was fine. The owner was very welcoming and there is a pay and display car park just across the road. Convenient for the city centre.

Barry's great.
Barry very graciously accepted some mail I had asked to be delivered to his place. That was a great help, since this was my first dayin the UK. Also, he had no problem with my Bank of Ulster notes. As a tourist, it amazes me rhat so many establishments won't accept them (and since i don't have a bank account in the UK, I cant exchange them in a bank or the Post Office, either. Ridiculous!) The room was clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast supplies acceeded my expectations!

Comfortable small bedroom
The landlord is kind and polite, he also allow us to store our suitcase. However, the room is not that big, so do not bring a big suitcase. The small kitchen is fit for a very short stay and I can reheat some food for my dinner.

Thankyou for taking the time to give a review. Concerning the parking . There is a car park opposite which is free from 6.30pm to 7.30M. The cost for 24 hrs.is 12.50.,4HOURS 5.00. For a City centre car park this seems quite reasonable.

It was warm in cold weather, and the breakfast was a bonus. There is a step in the bathroom which needs vigilance. The bedroom sash window is badly cracked, though it is secured by plastic sheeting

Good value, central, but get breakfast elsewhere!
Good value, good central location, comfortable, but the bread in the kitchen was out of date, and the breakfast cereal was dried-up / stuck together.

All our breakfast cereals are in sealed plastic containers. This guest happened to pick on a packet of Coco Pops which another guest had left. Not one of ours.!

bit run down
Only stayed the night but a bit ramshakle , shower wasn’t cleaned , toilet seat soiled, needed a good spruce before we got there , certainly not worth £65 a night !

Although a 5 min walk from the city center, it's a very quiet, somewhat tucked away little place. The owner/operator Barry was very nice and welcoming, and super easy going. We had no cash to pay him to start (he doesn't take cards), but allowed us to stay the night anyway, told us to pay when we could and we paid him the next morning after getting to an ATM, no problems at all. Will definitely be back!

Thank you for your posting. As we say it is a serviced apartment not a b and b in the true sense but we do leave continental style breakfast in the kitchen 24/7. Many of our guests who stay more than one night do like to be able to use the full kitchen facilities as well.

This location was fantastic. Barry was always there to help with any problems and just a great host! He was around enough that we felt taken care of but without being overbearing. It was easy to tell that he really cared about our time in St. Albans.
