Great hotel at downtown Sonoma

Quick one night getaway to Sonoma, staying at El Dorado. This hotel is my favorite in the area. Location is great and rooms are really nice, quiet, and clean.

We only stayed one night, but it was perfect. The rooms, though small, were well-appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—right on the square and within walking distance of everything Sonoma has to offer. We would absolutely stay here again!

The front desk staff went above and beyond to assure our stat was excellent. Elisa was so helpful with directions to the parking lot as well as with making sure our luggage was placed in our room by the time check in was available. We also received a welcome splash of rose wine and although we missed the happy hour event, we were offered a complimentary bottle of red wine. We love staying at El Dorado were are welcomed and treated like family. I look forward to staying there again soon.

Room with an outside terrace

The front desk staff was very helpful and polite. Sadly, they do not wear name tags so I can't give them the proper attention they deserve. The rooms are very comfortable but small. We will defiantly visit the hotel again, it was lovely and the amenities are great. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great choice

My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. It is a historic hotel, being well over 100 years old, but is well kept and modern. We stayed in the second floor right next to the street, yet our room was still quiet, excluding garbage man. Pablo was the first person we met at check in. He was exceedingly pleasant, professional, helpful, and nice. A big walking smile and ball of positive energy. My wife and I have nothing bad to say about our stay. This is the likely choice of future Sonoma stays.

Location is perfect, right on the plaza and walking distance to dozens of restaurants, bars and shops as well as a beautiful park across the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, shower was very nice. Absolutely loved this hotel, will stay again! The only two items that may be an issue for some are that the room was very small, we had maybe 2 feet on each side of the bed to walk around, and the other is parking. The hotel has a very small parking lot in the back that is a little tricky to get in/out of and there is street parking but it's all limited time parking unless you go 2-3 blocks away.

Super friendly and accommodating, a great boutique hotel in the heart of Sonoma with a small pool. Great restaurant (El Dorado Kitchen), pretty building, rooms a little small but location made up for it. We nearly stayed in Napa, so glad we chose this hotel in Sonoma, a much nicer town in our opinion.

Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent service. We arrived 4 hours earlier than check in but our room was ready which was nice. The only thing is the bed and pillows were not very comfortable in my opinion.

Add a chair to the room and achieve perfection. Wonderful visit after we stayed here in 1998, still great. Kitchen has delicious food. Highly recommend.

Clean, lovely, comfy bed, friendly helpful staff. Conveniently Right on Sonoma square. Had breakfast at Hotel restaurant. Everyone in our party of 9 loved our breakfast. Only negative is no elevator…we were ok, but if anyone cannot manage stairs, they wouldn’t want to stay here. Because it’s a certified historical building, I guess this exempts them from having handicapped accommodations? Otherwise it was an excellent experience and we’d return.

Great location

The building is showing signs of age, but the staff could not have been more lovely and helpful. We had to change rooms because our HVAC stopped working, big shout out to all of the staff, but especially to Elisa, the daytime desk clerk. She and the other young Hispanic gentleman Working at the desk early in the day went far above and beyond. The hotel needs to give them a raise.
