Best Beach on the Keweenaw - Big Traverse Bay on Lake Superior

"A wonderful property in the middle of stunning natural beauty. Clean and comfortable but not so fancy you feel you can’t live in it. The host was very friendly and responsive, the check in check out process was easy and exactly as described. We used both the fireplace and sauna, both were great and in good working order. Wood for both was provided and replenished during our stay. It was very nice that my dad could bring his dog.. she loved playing fetch on the beach and taking naps on the deck in the sun. The weather was lovely during our stay, We made good use of the kayaks and paddle boards provided and had a lovely bonfire under the full moon. We enjoyed exploring the ruins of the stamp mill in the nearby town of Gay, and also went to Houghton Douglas falls which is definitely worth seeing if you are visiting. The only thing that I might mention is that the porch railing is loose and wobbly so if you have friends visiting who need a rail advise them to be careful of that. But overall we had such a wonderful time and the cabin had so many thoughtful amenities and such a great setting.. I couldn’t give it less than five stars."

"We were so happy with our stay. There were so many small touches added to this extremely clean house. The sun porch was great for coffee in the morning as was the back porch on the warmer mornings. They had a big shower with very good water pressure with a lot of extra towels. The kitchen had everything you can ever need and they had sharp knives! They left a welcome basket of goodies with Trenary bakery cinnamon toast. Wifi worked great and they had a large TV which we didn't use. There was a fire pit in the yard with wood and kindling. The beds were comfy and the heat worked very well. They are located a block or 2 from a restaurant, ice cream shop, church, and park with playground. We were visiting family so we are definitely be staying here again."

"Super warm and Cozy was what greeted me when I first walked in. Add a delish local candy bar a a1/2 dozen farm fresh eggs, what more could one ask for except more time to enjoy the cabin. Top notch!"

"This place is *amazing*! It really does not look like it belongs in the UP. It should be at a high-end ski lodge/resort somewhere out West. It is truly a rare find for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is better in person than even the photos show. It sleeps many, many people as well as has room during the day for many. You can put 4 vehicles in the garage and still have room to play corn hole. The kitchen appliances are top-notch with good ventilation and warming station. Note: there is no grill, but there is a very nice Blackstone griddle outside to use. This was the only 'surprise' based on the listing, but it was a good surprise for us - griddles are great to use to cook for many people outside without a lot of mess. We hope to be able to stay here again next Spring. Definitely recommend for family groups & friend groups."

"We truly enjoyed our stay! The property is on a pristine sandy beach in a cove making it easy to hop in a kayak or walk out a ways into Lake Superior ( in warmer weather or if you enjoy a cold plunge!)The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms were clean and had a variety of bedding we could use.If all of that doesn’t make you wanna book, the sunrise here will turn anyone into a morning person!"

"We absolutely loved this cabin. We needed this getaway. And it was absolutely perfect. The view was incredible and we even had an eagle land in one of the trees about 30 ft away from us and we got to watch it fish. The cabin itself was just what we were looking for something small and cozy and the fireplace was amazing to have. We will definitely be coming back again. As We didn’t want to leave"

"Overall a very nice house and easy to find. I was searching for a house with a jacuzzi and a fireplace. This house came up in the search and I should have read more closely the description. The jacuzzi is closed during winter months and although there are multiple wood burning fireplaces you are only allowed to use one of them. However the available wood is down by the lake and was covered in 3 feet of snow. Additionally, we had to shovel to get to the grill and the grill is in need of repair or replacement. For such a nice property the grill is shoddy. Otherwise the kitchen was great and well equipped. The sauna was a nice feature and the wi-fi worked. This house would be great for a large group during the summer. "
