Large Lakefront Paradise on the shores of Lake Michigamme
Large luxury hand-built 7 bedroom custom home situated on 6 acres on the shores of Lake Michigamme. Large living areas can fit several families comfortably. Sleeps up to 20! (Small additional fees apply to parties over 16 guests) we also rent the property next door vrbo #1341493 (sleeps 12) with new custom turf putting green perfect for a reunion or for a large gathering!!! Gourmet kitchen, 3 fireplaces, large covered porch, large deck facing water, hot tub (open June-September) card room, exercise room, sauna, wifi. Main level has beautiful master with lake views and soaking tub. Upstairs has 4 bedrooms and office with jack and jill baths/showers. The views are breathtaking from these rooms!!! Basement has 2 more bedrooms, 2 baths, a large media room, exercise room, sauna and a 2nd master and a bunk room. The home is all done with custom paint/ stone treatments, wood walls, beams, iron chandeliers and custom decor. It is opulent yet very comfortable and livable. The house lies on an amazing rock bluff overlooking the lake with arguably the best views of the lake! There is road access to the dock area as well as a gradually sloped walking path along the lake for guests of all ages. The dock lies off of a large stone patio with a built in fire-pit (for roasting hot dogs and smores!) as well as a large sand box for little ones who'd like to play. The dock is perfect for swimming (over 15 feet deep at the end) or fishing (we've caught perch, walleye, crappie, bass and pike). Or you are welcome to use our 2 ocean kayaks (untippable) to tour the waters. Take a paddle out to any of the nearby islands for a picnic! Make sure you get back to the house in time for the sunsets- because they are second-to-none! The whole house glows orange nearly every night as the sun sets directly out from the large floor to ceiling windows over looking the lake! They will take your breath away! Perhaps this is why Albert Einstein, Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone used to frequent this lake for their get-aways as well!

Yes, the host was great. Very timely with responses. Very well laid out house for comfort and entertaining. Clearer communication on use of the garage and hot tub would have been nice. Not a big deal other than having expectations then being let down.
Beautiful location. This house is well stocked with amenities to cook and walk right in just like you live there. Sheets , Towels and blankets plenty for all. As a vrbo owner myself i was extremely impressed with this property.
The stay was fantastic. Very easy process, beautiful home, setting and surroundings. We have been here several times now and have always had a wonderful experience. Looking forward to doing it again.
Thanks so much for the hospitality!
The property was amazing and a lot of space for my friends and I! The house was supplied with everything we needed and more! We wanted to fish and they didn’t have the kayaks out yet but they responded swiftly and got them out for us to use! I would love to come back and stay here in the summer to be able to enjoy swimming in the lake! 10/10 stay I would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the U.P.!
Our multi-generational family thoroughly enjoyed this fabulous property! There are incredible views of Lake Michigamme, kayaks for exploring the lake, deer occasionally visiting, and cold but beautiful lake swimming, along with a sauna to relax & warm up before and/or after the swim. The home is spacious enough for everyone to have privacy and gather for dinners together in huge living room & kitchen area and the host responds quickly to questions.
This house was so perfect for our family of 7 adults, an 8 year old, and 5 month old! It had everything we needed and more! We loved the “poker room” and hooked out switch up to have game night, the sauna was incredible and inspiring me to build one in my basement, the kitchen was incredible and loved they had an extra kitchen in the basement! The owner was great to work and and quick to reply! Our family absolutely loved it here! Music on the Manitou on Wednesday night was a hit! Loved every single thing! Thank you!!
What a great location and house for our snowmobile adventures. The house had everything we needed to cook for the participants. Room galore and the views are amazing. I highly recommend this location.
Host was very prompt with a response if we had a question. Home was very nice. We had 12 of us snowmobiling for the week. Lots of snow & the trails were perfect.
Every aspect of the house and property was awesome. The layout of the house, the interior design, the views, the solitude, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, an amazing porch with wood burning fireplace, the sauna in the basement, large number of social gathering spots, but still plenty large enough to have some alone time when needed. 25 years of renting for us and this place stands out as the clear best ever!
The place was amazing! The hot tub not in order during the winter time was a bummer. They really looked forward to that. We might have missed it in the description before booking. The sauna was a nice touch and the small workout room. The owners were very responsive and were able to accommodate us leaving early due to a storm coming in. We did go to the wrong house first cause of GPS leading us there, but none the less, this was a BEAUTIFUL place. Will consider this place for summer rentals for the hot tub.

Amazing !!!
Absolute amazing stay !! Fully loaded with everything you need to cook, sleep & well .. Do nothing but chill by the fire You will be surrounded by nature & the view on the lake is priceless !!!
The experience of this VRBO rental was like staying at a friend's house. Unlike my previous VRBO houses, this one felt lived in (there were pictures on the walls, photos in drawers, and other things). The lower rating is because of the following items:1. NO disclosure about the limits on water usage.2. We had to clean the grill because of years of built up grease in order for it to work properly.3. No firewood at the house; we had to carry it from the playhouse by the pier.4. No recycling so while we tried to save the cans and bottles for their kids to sell, all the cardboard and boxes had to be discarded.5. We had to take out the trash while we were there.
Facility is large and well equipped, many people can spread out here. Even though we liked the property, there were a few drawbacks. The road is gravel and four miles long, thus the solitude. The exterior needed some TLC, their were things lying around the yard and water front that were junky. The deck was cracked and weathered excessivley, the deck chair cushions were ratty looking and wet to sit on if it rained the previous day. The sharp kitchen knives were very dull and nothing to sharpen them on. There were several fireplaces and no convenient dry firewood and kindling, we were advised to use only one fire place. We purchased our own firewood at the Park and made our own kindling, with our own tools. The place was well supplied on other items, including games and reading material. We would consider staying here again, but are looking around.
Beautiful, spacious property. The new (since our last visit 3 years ago) railings and front steps were wonderful -- much easier for our geriatric family members. We never did get the living room TV to work, but we didn't really care since there were so many other things to do. A knife sharpener and meat thermometer would be nice additions to the kitchen, although they may have been there and I just didn't find them.
Thanks so much for allowing us to rent --we definitely plan to come back!
The property, house, amenities and location were perfect. If you are looking for seclusion and nature, this is the place to go. My family loved it. I did not know the hot tub and sauna would be such a hit with my family. It was a memorable and fantastic week.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this Lake Michigamme cabin. Everything was as described. There was plenty of room for our party of 11 adults and 2 children and everyone had plenty of space. Although my father-in-law was not able to walk the path down to the dock, he was easily able to walk the "road" that takes you down to the same location just not along the side of the lake. Fishing was excellent off the dock with plenty of Rock Bass, smallmouth and a couple of Walleye. The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed and we were able to make large meals with ease. All members of our party are already asking when we are going back as they had such a good time.
