"This place feels like an old, outdated motel. Everything is worn out — the overall condition is just very old and not well-maintained. The breakfast was especially bad — honestly, it was not edible. Very poor quality food, served with plastic utensils and disposable dishware, which only added to the unpleasant experience. I genuinely don’t understand who leaves positive reviews for this hotel. The reality does not match expectations at all."

"The property is located across the street from the ocean, so the views are beautiful. The room was very spacious and nice touches like the fireplace. The bathroom however desperately needs to be updated. The tub grout was not nice and the tub fixtures were not mounted right. The bath soap mounted on the wall in the shower was empty. The room has 2 sinks one in the bathroom and one outside near the door, however the faucet in the room would spray water everywhere if used. The bed was very comfortable, and street is very quiet so it was easy to get a good night sleep. The front desk person apparently does multiple tasks as they were not always there and not very friendly. The "continental breakfast" provided was a couple pieces of breakfast cakes, granola bars, bananas. and apples. They had coffee but nothing else for non-coffee drinkers like myself."

"If you want to stay as close to Hearst Castle as possible, this hotel is a good choice. There aren’t a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is quiet and there are some nice views to be had. However, if you are willing to be a little further from Hearst Castle, the town of Cambria is a great option and is more vibrant. "
