"One cannot honestly review this place without seperating the food from the accommodation. The proprietor is sushi chef SUPREME and the dinner course was the most awesome sushi wife and I have EVER had (and we've travel extensively throughout Japan to know). Every dish is prepared in front of you and served one at a time so be prepared to spend a while to enjoy the full course. Even if not staying here, highly recommend you come here for unforgettable sushi. The stay is a little like being in a hostel, superior in room quality but with shared bath and toilet (which is also used by restaurant customers). Everything is modern and clean and the room is nicely decorated but has a tiny sink in the corner for washing face and brushing teeth. I believe there's only 2 rooms upstairs that is accessed by a steep, narrow staircase so if you're a large or heavy set person, probably this is not a comfortable place to stay. Also, DON'T bring lot of heavy luggage because it's a long walk from the ferry terminal, lot of it over unpaved, bumpy sandy road. Besides, it's unsafe to have the ladies who work here to carry it upstairs.Again, the sushi is to die for, EXCEPTIONAL, but the actual stay is not for everyone. But for the adventurous and ones who appreciate traditional setting at a fantastic price (considering the dinner course alone is worth so much more than what high priced sushi restaurants charge for an inferior product), highly recommend a stay here, or at least stop by for a meal."

"Beautiful location, clean room and excellent onsen to soak in. During our stay, we were treated to a great selection of shampoo/conditioner, ice cream, drinks etc. Food was excellent as well. The hotel offers a free boat ride to Miyajima at 10am and a return trip at 3.30pm (needs reservation). It's a 15-min walk from the train station but you can get an uber if you miss the hotel shuttle. There is also an oyster restaurant next to the hotel, which serves really fresh oysters...visit it if you like seafood!"

"I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Kenji-san provided such a cozy comfortable stay on his organic farm with a one of a kind view of the Setouchi Inland Sea or as he calls it “the Japanese Mediterranean”. Kenji kindly gave us tour upon arriving and showed us all the facilities including a traditional cedar tub and we shared very engaging conversation on the drive to and from the property. "The hotel is fantastic. Location is ideal, steps away from the ferry terminal and a short walk from the shore across from the O-torii gate. Staff is always helpful and courteous, the room was wonderful, with a view of the harbor. There is a bar that serves good food next to the lobby, and a great bakery for breakfast. The one thing we would recommend the hotel to modify is the following: There is a nice formal restaurant in the basement level that is supposed to be really good, and every sign and reference to it mention it closes at 9pm. However, last entry is at 7pm, and this is not mentioned anywhere until you actually get to the restaurant. We got there at 7:40pm, so for us it was too late, and we were unable to enjoy the restaurant. We will have to do it next time! And by the way, we would definitely stay at Miyajima Villa Hotel again. Highly recommend."

"The property is very nice, clean and modern. The living room is a comfortable place to relax. Please be aware that this is a 3 bedroom property and the other rooms will be occupied by other guests. The kitchen, living room, toilets, and bathroom are all shared with the other guests. The house is lovely but has very thin walls and doors and you can hear all the other guests, even when they are trying to be very quiet. If the other guests leave early in the morning you will very likely be woken up. It is a nice place to stay but please consider this when booking. "
