Loved our stay in the Echols suite - Historic, near downtown, short 1/2 hour drive to mile zero of magnificent Blue Ridge Highway! Only two negatives - the front slate walkway in need of repair or clean up - many loose pieces. Although access was secure and easy without onsite staff, two emails requesting early check-in/late checkout went unanswered. Do not know if other concerns would have been addressed....

"We did not even stay. It was so unkempt and dirty. Weeds going into the room. Smelled of mold and mildew. No screens on windows so we could air it out. As soon as we checked in the office closed and we couldn’t talk to anyone. We just packed up and left to a different hotel. We want a full refund of the costs. It was truly the worst place we have ever experienced."
