"The hotel is in a premium location with premium price. But some how the service , especially during the busy breakfast time needs quite some work. No one serves coffee or offer water during my breakfast yet you are expected to pay a tip for non existent service"

Find out more about Sha Tin

Accommodation in Sha Tin

Sha Tin is an urban, family-friendly neighbourhood with convenient options for restaurants. The neighbourhood's architecture, friendly people, and skyline are just some of its charming qualities. Many visitors come to enjoy the natural beauty of the island views. A stay at one of the hotels in Sha Tin makes it easy to venture out into the larger area.

Sightseeing around Sha Tin

The museums and temples are some of the area's top attractions. Attractions like Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Tsang Tai Uk Village, and Museum of Ethnology highlight the local culture. Amah Rock, Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery, and Tao Fung Shan Christian Centre are some of the notable landmarks. Snoopy World, Lions Nature Education Centre, and Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree are family favourites.

Shopping and hiking are a couple of popular activities in the area. Silverstrand Beach, Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach, and Clear Water Bay Beach are a few spots to soak up some sunshine. Local parks like Sha Tin Park, Shing Mun Country Park, and Nan Lian Garden are peaceful spots. Plan to do some shopping while in town? Consider New Town Plaza, Festival Walk, and Golden Computer Arcade. If you have some more time, pay a visit to Sha Tin Race Course, Mong Kok Stadium, or EMAX Shopping Mall.

A few of the most popular sights in the area include Mong Kok Computer Centre, Ladies' Market, and Hong Kong Coliseum. Che Kung Temple, Lion's Rock, and Chinese University of Hong Kong are other must-sees.

Getting around Sha Tin

To see the sights outside of town, hop aboard a train. Hong Kong Sha Tin Wai Station is the closet train station, but Hong Kong Sha Tin Station and Hong Kong City One Station are also nearby. If you want to explore what's across the water, take a ferry from the port.

Sha Tin is 27.7 km (17.2 miles) from the airport in Hong Kong (HKG-Hong Kong Intl.). Shenzhen (SZX-Shenzhen Intl.) is the next closest airport, 48.4 km (30.1 miles) away.
