The hotel is a little old and dated, but the staff were friendly and helpful (although at breakfast we were initially told that your name/room number was not on the list - an issue that was quickly corrected). We were in a disabled room (I had specifically requested a ground floor room which the hotel promptly agreed to, although we didn't specifically require the disabled facilities). My only issue with the room was that the toilet didn't flush well (still stuff floating in it after a full flush and you then had to wait for the cistern to fill to effectively flush again). I can't complain about the parking charge as i was aware of it when I booked, but it does seem a bit steep for a car park that only really services the hotel (I cannot see any reason why anybody would want to park there if they were not a hotel customer). Breakfast had a pretty reasonable selection of continental and hot options, although I found the layout not entirely logical and had to look for some items that were not where I would have expected.

So this is a mixed review, Good points, staff were very good, hotel itself no complaints, food was decent. Bad points, unfortunately the hotel had a group of uncivilised guests staying, feral kids running up and down the halls until nearly 3am, when phoning the desk to report this, they was unable to offer much help, it took us to confront the kids and “parents” to get this sorted, not our idea of a relaxing hotel stay. Jacuzzi was not working all weekend

Perfect location for the my stay. Rooms were nice and the staff were very kind and helpful. The following morning breakfast was superb, coupled with a visit to the swimming pool and spa certainly set me up for a perfect day. I shall certainly be returning again if I am in the area.

Arrived late evening. Reception staff was friendly and helpful. We were given a disabled room on the ground floor (we did not request this) The room was cold and the heating would not work. The bathroom was more like a hospital cubicle. The room remained cold overnight and it was only at 18°C this morning. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
