"Superb Stay! We have been to Merida many times and have stayed at several different places...Hotel Caribe is in a great location, close to everything, and super comfortable! The rooftop pool is amazing and the perfect place to swim, siesta and relax in between exploring all that Merida has to offer! We loved the central jardin area of the hotel, since most of the rooms are built around this area. Waking up to the sounds of all the birds living in these trees is wonderful. The staff is great, very professional, friendly and helpful. The place is immaculate, very comfortable and does have a restaurant onsite for breakfast. It also has an elevator if needed, although there are only two upper floors."

"The pool was beautiful but not heated so we couldn’t swim in it. There are lots of chairs to sun bathe in. We were able to safely walk to many markets, plazas and restaurants within 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. "

"Martha the front desk reception was delightful and we enjoyed chatting with her. She gave us good tips, on where to go and find enjoyable meals and entertainment. The room was large and comfortable. I would have liked having nightstand on my side of the bed. They had washcloths! The pictures of the pool area were very nice, but did not reflect the reality of the pool. It needed a lot of management. The water was too cold. Needs solar heating. Breakfast was good, but expected more than pan Bimbo. For the price we had a fantastic time at this hotel! "

"It is 15 minute walk to plaza grande(nice park , museums, shops and restaurants along the way) and a 8 minute walk to the beginning of Paseo de Montejo( a lot of good restaurants) and a 20 minute walk to La Plancha park (beautifulpark). Our stay was great. Our room was cleaned everyday and the staff was very courteous. The only thing to be aware is that the rooms only have a full size bed, not a king like it said on the reservation, no tv, and only bedsheets. I had to ask for a blanket. "

"The location was great, right on the Paseo. The hotel was generally clean. We were given a wheelchair accessible bathroom, which we had requested, and that was helpful. Unfortunately, the water never got hot and the shower flooded the bathroom. The cafe downstairs did have excellent croissants, though. "

"Pros: strong WIFI, plenty of English and Espanol tv channels, hot water in shower/faucet, good size fitness centre and selections of machines/equipment, nice pool, lime/cucumber iced water for guests in lobby, super quick check out, very accommodating housekeeper, quick response to replace bathroom burnt out light bulb Cons: no refillable drinking water station but only plastic bottled water, check in before 3pm (I arrived at 2pm) not possible, got my room 25 mins after 3pm and no explanation or apology given, breakfast buffet not interesting"
