The door on the room was broken but still able to shut, just tricky. They tried to come in and fix it while I was still staying in the room. No deadbolt on the door so maintenance entered one day without knocking. They also had a few lightbulbs out. Great location though and room came with a balcony. Concierge was great and set me up with their driver for an early morning transport to the airport.

Two night trip to Rome
Nice room with balcony. Good price and friendly staff. Jacob was wonderful. I took advantage of the pick up and drop off from the airport and to hotel and he was right there with my name as soon as we came out of the gate. Very helpful on guiding us on how to get around using the public transportation. The hotel is within 20 minutes walking distance from the sightseeing places.

From the pictures I was excited for my stay. But found: -a bed that sunk so bad on one side I rolled into it. -a bathroom door that wouldn't shut because the door jamb was busted. -a coffee maker with no mugs. No cups at all! -no counter to put any toiletries in the bathroom -no toilet paper holder so the toilet paper was across the bathroom -no shelf in the shower -5th floor room and the elevator broke! -went to check out and the lobby was locked with no one in sight. Had to leave keys hanging on the door handle so we didn't miss out train. So if you just want a place to lay your head, I guess it will do. Well that's if you don't mind sleeping in a sunken bed.

La Luna Romana is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The place is filthy. There are stains on the walls, carpets and linens. After noticing the condition of the room they gave me, I asked for another room and was told there were none. The air conditioner did not work. We were stuck with a fan in a 90+ degree room. The lock on the door did not work and it took the staff over 15 minutes of trying different keys and playing with the knob to let us back into the room after we went to dinner. We only stayed one day but that was too much time. We even noticed bed bugs which we took pictures and videos of. When we went downstairs to the front desk to complain, the man did not seem surprised. When I asked for a refund he said they do not refund money. When I asked for a manager he said she was not available and he did not know when she would be at the hotel. I don't understand how they stay in business. I can only imagine it is unsuspecting tourists like me who keep them in business. We book the hotel from a website in another country then travel to find this dump waiting for us with no other last minute options. For health and safety reasons, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!

Very far from the center of Rome.
I was very disappointed with what I saw at arrival. The room was tiny to accommodate 4 people, although on the website the photos shows a very comfortable room. It was also advertised as being near Via Veneto near central Rome, but in fact it was much further away. There was no wi-fi or room refrigerator as advertised, and the staff only dealt in cash, no payments could be made with a Credit Card. The television was maybe 6 inches square.

The wifi would not work in our room, it was not as it was a advertised. First room ac was not workin on a 35 degree day. Switched rooms and the next room did not have a fridge for us to have cold beverage or anything in the room on hot days.

We reached pretty late at about 12 in the night. But the staff were kind and helped us. Budget accommodation with all the necessary luxuries. Excellent unlimited breakfast was also provided for just 3 euro.

Satisfying overall, things we did not like includes a smell in the room and the hallway in 6th floor which the manager explain by the disinfectant they apply to the carpet. The breakfast was simple and basic, just worth of the cost.

Basic hotel with good location
Given that our main priority was to find a good value hotel close to the centre of Rome, we overall got what we wanted. The hotel is basic and in need of updating, but was comfortable enough given we were out most of the time. It did have some flaws, fan in the bathroom made noise throughout night and the shower took lots of fiddling about to get it hot enough. Staff are helpful, giving a map and highlighting main attractions and travel routes. We encountered a number of problems with the room but these were handled by staff efficiently. The location we felt was perfect. Central enough to walk to all the main locations. Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps around 10 mins and Colloseum around 20 mins. Nice little restaurants and delis on the street. I wouldn't book this hotel if you plan on spending a lot of time in it but for somewhere very basic to sleep and shower, it didn't raise any massive issues. I felt given its location, it was good value for money.

Bit pricey for what it had to offer
Thanks to the informative reviews posted by the members of this forum, I was better prepared for my stay at La Luna Romana. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, but housed within an apartment around the corner from the hotel where the reception desk is located. There is no WiFi anywhere else but the reception which was quite inconvenient at times and the rather unimpressive breakfast is served on the third floor, above the reception. The proximity to key attractions is great and you are only a short walk (15/20 min) from Republicca and Termini stations. There is no parking and parking garages cost at least 25€ per day, so if you wish ti risk a few dings, you can park on the street and pay a mere 8€ per day, by buying a ticket from a Tabacchi in the neighbourhood.

just awful!
do not stay at this hotel... why? because first of all the rooms are at a different building from the actual reception of the hotel....2 blocks south... you have to open 5 doors with different keys to get to your room. actual room was clean but no windows ...dark and suffocating... staff very rude and ignorant. there is no phone in the room and at night people in the next room were fighting and the girl was screaming in the common hall way and swearing at the guy and we couldnt sleep at allllllll.... no phone to let anyone know and we were to scared to get out of our room.. shower didnt work...remote control didnt work... he offered to take 10% of our charge for the room but that was nothing compared to what we went through....never again....the most awful hotel i ever been.

There was not nobody at reception at night, so we needed to call to reception and awake the guy. Staff were not smiling at all. Room was not big. There was little balcony, wich was nice. TV showed only two Italian channels. No BBC etc. Bathroom was clean, except the roof that was in dirt. Shower was very poor, sometimes we got hot water sometimes not. Breakfast was really miserable. Coffee machine, croissants, yogurt, white bread and butter, nothing else. Location was good and clean. Some kind of business area. Busses behind the corner and 10min walk to main railway station.

Zweckmässig gutes Hotel für Citytrip
Ich bin mit meiner Frau und zwei Kleinkinder nach Rom für ein Citytrip über Neujahr. Das Hotel liegt 10-15 Gehminuten vom Bahnhof entfernt und ist deshalb sehr zentral. Sehr viele Sehenswürdigkeiten können so gut zu Fuss erreicht werden. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 3. Stock mit einem Queen-Size Bett und ein Etagenbett für die Kinder. 2-jährige Tochter und 4 Monate Baby. Das Hotel verfügt über ein Lift. Zwei bis 3 Personen haben Platz im Lift. Ein Doppel Kinderwagen (vorne/hinten) von uns hatte auch gerade noch Platz. Unser Zimmer hatte ein Teppichboden und war für Rom Verhältnisse eher gross. Das Badezimmer ist zweckmässig ausgerüstet. Duschen war jedoch Glückssache. Weiss nicht ob es an der Jahreszeit gelegen hat, aber ich duschte auch zweimal eher kalt. Mal war das Wasser sehr angenehm, bis heiss und manchmal nur noch kalt. Wer mit Kleinkinder reist, braucht meistens ein Wasserkocher für Milchpulver. An der Rezeption haben wir einen kleinen Wasserkocher bekommen und für die Tage behalten. Das Personal ist freundlich. Spricht Englisch und natürlich Italienisch. Eher negativ war die Anreise; wir mussten zu lange warten bis unser Zimmer fertig war. Der Teppichboden war dann noch vom putzen nass. Vermutlich wegem dem Putzen im Badezimmer lief das ganze Wasser Richtung Teppich. Das Hotel bietet auch Frühstück gegen Bezahlung wir haben jedoch täglich auswärts gegessen. Abgesehen vom Duschen, war es insgesamt ein guter Aufenthalt. Man muss bedenken, dass man wenig im Zimmer ist.

La primera noche llegamos a la 1 de la mañana, porque nuestro avión se retrasó. Lo único que quieres a esa hora es que te den la habitación para poder descansar, pero no fue así, ya que nos dieron una habitación estándar individual, cuando yo había reservado una doble (con más de un mes de antelación) nos explica el recepcionista que por la mañana nos lo solucionan. Por la mañana fue a partir de las 10 de la mañana, habiendo perdido ya parte de la mañana. Nos lo pudieron solucionar dándonos la habitación que pagamos. Para compensar nos regalaron el desayuno, cosa que agradecimos. En cuanto a la limpieza, cambian las toallas cada dos días, y en toda la semana no nos cambiaron las sábanas.

Sehr einfach aber gute Lage
Das Hotel verfügt über sehr einfache und doch etwas ältere Zimmer mit kl. Mängel (z.B. Toilettenspülung war durchaus interessant); das Personal allerdings ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und v.a. der Preis dem Standard entsprechend. D.h. wer so günstg reisen möchte, wie wir das getan hat muss ohnehin mit einigen Abstrichen rechnen. Die Lage des Hotels ist hervorzuheben. Vieles ist zu Fiß erreichbar und der Bahnhof Termini ist quasi gleich ums Eck (ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß) Alles in allem für diesen Preis echt perfekt.

Small rooms with minimal equipment - but for the price you know what you get... The hotel is in good location and the rooms work - if you want to sleep well and spend your time exploring Rome.
