The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area."

"We had a really lovely stay at this hotel. Room was clean and comfortable, lovely firm bed, great shower, and excellent wifi. Nice bar, and a good menu choice in the restaurant, including an extensive Gluten Free menu. Breakfast was nicely presented and well-cooked. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, and will happily stay again."

"Colin and the Dumfries Villa was an absolutely delight! It was such an easy walk from the train station, incredibly convenient! Colin made us feel like we were family-the villa was quiet and peaceful, the room was perfect! As two traveling women, we felt incredibly safe and cared for. Colin also let us know about all the wonderful sites to see in town and gave us a map to be able to get around easily. The breakfast was a true/traditional Scottish breakfast, made to personal preferences, by Colin himself! I will definitely be staying here again if I ever happen to be in the Dumfries area in the future! Thanks so much, Colin!"

"The room was lovely but the sink in the en-suite was tiny & hard to get a wash or clean your teeth in without getting water everywhere. The front of the sink unit was already water damaged. The shower was good & easy to use. The lady who greeted us was very helpful & friendly especially as we forgot to take our key out with us & had to ask her to let us in to our room. Nothing seemed like too much trouble for her. There was a good choice for breakfast which was cooked to order"
