We had the most amazing stay at The Hill Hotel! Terry and Lynne were wonderful hosts - so very welcoming and helpful!! Breakfast was delicious. And the location was perfect…so close to the train station.

This is an impeccable hotel. The hosts are kind and helpful, and the breakfast is perfectly and excellently cooked. It is nicely situated: 5 minute walk from the train station, and just a 15 minute walk from downtown Dumfries. We loved our stay.

Great Family Run Hotel

Two night stay, very good standard. Family run with superb welcoming hosts and excellent service. Great breakfast also! Couldnt fault the stay and a much better experience than a chain hotel. Highly recommend.

Quality Stay

What a find,this hotel is .it's nicely situated good car park ,clean bright and extremely comfortable .Terry and Lynne are wonderful hosts ,nothing is too much trouble for them ,and they are always friendly and helpful .we have stayed here three times before and would not consider staying anywhere else .

My husband & I stayed at the Hill Hotel for 2 nights while in Dumfries. From arrival to departure, Terry, Lynne & staff provided exceptional customer service. Our room was clean and the property also looked immaculate. Our entire stay was relaxing and we would not hesitate to return to the hotel in future. We fully recommend it.

Nice and friendly place close to center

It’s an old building on a hill but the inside is nicely renovated and in a good state. Rooms are nice and clean and beds are very good. Breakfast is nicely done on request the English or Scottish way. Service is excellent and staff (Terry) is very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful friendly hotel

The Hill hotel has very tasteful décor, is very well maintained and the owner is very friendly and helpful. We had a large room and tasty hot breakfast. My only little problem was that we had some difficulty working the new ecco shower.
