"The room is clean and quiet, the breakfast is fine. Bartenders are the most helpful people in the hotel. Reception staff is unprofessional, borderline rude. For the first time in my 30+y travel experience, there was zero explanation about hotel amenities upon check in. What is plain scandalous, I was given a room of a lower class than I paid for in advance. Had to go all the way to the manager. In my room, I could hear every toilet flush from the top to the bottom floor. No complementary water, no water coolers, no ice machines. This is a striking bad experience against the general quality service culture of Rīga hotels."

"Friendly staff and just a 10 minute walk to old town. Unfortunately, it was very warm out (25c) and our room had no air conditioning. Our room was too hot to sleep. Staff provided us a fan because there were no rooms available with air conditioning. Our last night, we paid for an upgraded room that was supposed to have a/c but never got much below 24c."

"As others have mentioned…you get what you pay for. We stayed for four days and it did the job. The hotel was clean. Bed linen clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. The location is a flat 15min walk to old town and there are bars and restaurants within a few minutes. I have my own rating system, this is a three glasses of wine hotel and my that I mean after three glasses it’s totally fine :)"

"Amazing hostel located just across from the train station, and a short walk to the main bus station. A breakfast is provided each morning with a range of waffles, pastries, juice, tea, coffee, fruit and cheeses. Beds are comfortable, with heaps of storage and overall has a nice vibe!"

"Very helpful member of desk staff on my arrival. Room upgrade provided which was great. Good sized room, fridge and kettle and good-sized bathroom. Plenty of space and facilities in the room. Breakfast - a wide-ranging choice of hot and cold food to meet every taste although accessing food could be challenging as the main dining room walkway was where food tables were located and touring parties were present! Days 2 & 3 found the table seating changed - from smaller, individual tables to large circular ones, presumably for the touring parties. Not ideal for the lone traveller. The only other negative aspect was one had to be careful leaving ones seat to collect food as over-zealous staff would take items away that were not finished with: Including food and drinks, simply because one was not seated as they hurried round to clear spaces. The hotel is ideally suited for walking to the train and bus stations and for sight-seeing."
