  • Pinnacles Provincial Park protects a very unique formation of hoodoos. These hoodoos began their formation 12 million years ago, when molten lava flowing over the earth’s surface cooled in flat basalt layers over older layers of ash and rock. The Ice Age followed, and when the ice mass receded, melt-water streams eroded the valley below Pinnacles Park. The hoodoos are formed from the effects of this natural erosion and weathering. The basalt is eroded away, revealing the more resistant ash layer, and often producing vivid bands of color as individual basalt layers are removed. The hoodoos at Pinnacles Provincial Park are fragile, since they are still undergoing these forces of erosion and weathering. (September 2019) #History

The staff was friendly during check-in and the facility, clean bed sheets and towels. However, this motel seems to be in a transition period to new owners. My room had some renovations complete but the workmanship was extremely poor (baseboard not fully attached, half painted bathtub, paint on the floor). The shower's hot water has a strong smell of sulphur likely from a faulty hot water tank, years of built up dust on the floor in corners of the room. Hopefully this is just a product of the old owners and it will be better in the future.

Great customer service. We requested a room by the little patio so baby could sleep in the room while we hung outside for a while before bed. Perfect set up for our family so we could be nice and close. The host also provided us with dishsoap so we could wash his bottles. 10/10 customer service!!!

Staff was amazing and friendly. Property is in the process of being updated and improved. It is obvious there is work being done on the rooms even though they are in use (cabinets not fully installed). Room was still clean and comfortable. Once completed, they will look wonderful.

The room was warm and dry and the bed was, for the most part, good. The staff was helpful and friendly. That said, the room had very few amenities not even kleenex. The hot water smelled like Sulphur and the toilet wouldn’t flush properly. The place needs some serious renovations including the cobblestone walkways which are very uneven due to frost heaves and are a tripping hazard.

It was conveniently close to the highway, but far enough from it to be quiet. Dining was close by. The room had sticking doors which were hard to open and close, and nothing that really made use say "nice." The microwave oven was situated in such a way that it was necessary to practically stand on one's head to operate it. It wasn't plugged in either.
