I have to start by saying what I REALLY DIDN'T like, because it tainted our whole experience so much that I would not stay here again. I had booked a room with a Mountain View. Having a mountain view was the most important aspect of the trip for me. I also paid $500/night for a one bedroom in the low season - in order to get a room with a good view. So when I checked in, low and behold, we were facing the parking lot in a very cramped little room. Honestly, I wouldn't have booked this room if it were free. I immediately went back to the front desk to let them know that this was not the room I booked. The guy at the front desk was apologetic but said too bad, no rooms with a view available. I wanted to drive home and just forget the whole thing, I was so disappointed. The next morning I let the front desk know again that I wanted to be moved to the room I had booked and paid for. The girl said there were no other rooms available and no rooms were becoming available. I let her know that it was a Monday in the low season and the parking lot and the hotel and restaurant and entire resort of Fernie was completely deserted which made it really hard for me to believe that. Later that day, the manager texted me and told me he had another room for us. It was the room I had seen online when I booked the place. I was happy. We had to pack up all our food and ski gear and suitcases and move. The new room smelled strong of mildew, but otherwise it was exactly what I had wanted.
