We had a wonderful dinner in the Hotel. 10 out of 10. Great Waiter and fantastic food. My compliments to the Chef!! View is an added bonus in the Saffire Room. Our room was very comfortable as was the bed.

Fantastic staff! Excellent food in the restaurant. Great location for a walk down to the beach or into the heritage forest that borders the property or into town. Great ocean view from the Rita Hayworth room. Would definitely stay again.

To begin with the welcoming lady was amazing, going above and beyond to make sure we understood all the locks and security. (I know realize she was working overtime, as they have limited guest hours). *** read that entire disclaimer as I didn’t come to realize we were very lucky. This wonderful lady stayed for our arrival, she didm’t have to. Gave us an amazing tour of the house and our room where John Wayne Stayed back in the day. Lots of stars stayed in this mansion. Room amazingly quite big with 4 poster king bed, seating, fridge, coffee, free snacks, snd water in fridge . The entire place and our suite was so clean, loved the extra service when we were out of the room. Such a beautiful gem, loved everything, we will be back! Beautiful partial view of golf course in front , with ocean in the distant view. Thank you. Ps we didn’t dine at the beautiful restaurant, next time we will make reservations.

We loved that it was a historical property, which was very well maintained. The rooms are exceptionally large and comfortable and the property was very quiet. We had the Rita Hayworth room which provided a lovely view of the ocean, though the room was situated in the middle of the mansion, which looked over the roof of the pillared entrance to the front door. It was the only possible drawback that we can think of to the room, and we did not really notice it too much because we were looking at the view and the golf course below us. On another visit, we would choose either of the rooms to the left or right. We had dinner in their dining room, which was lovely. Breakfast nor lunch are served at the hotel and dinner is not served Monday and Tuesday evenings, but they recommended two very good restaurants to us for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We went to them and thoroughly enjoyed them as well.

Beautiful spacious room with a view of the ocean (saw two cruise ships sailing north). Check in was welcoming and friendly and we were personally escorted to our room. We had chilled water in our room and a beautiful jetted clawfoot tub. Really enjoyed our hotel experience.
