Lugar tranquilo cerca del centro , se siente seguro y tiene lugares cerca para cenar y desayunar . El único inconveniente es que la cama grande estaba sumamente dura casi como dormir en una tabla y las almohadas llenas de bolas. En otras palabras el lugar muy agradable pero dormí fatal y todo el día me dolió la espalda .

Sr. Hector, gracias por su comentario. Entiendo que solo fue una noche y probablemente este detalle de la cama ya lo sintió al momento del dormir. Le hago la referencia que la mitad de las camas que tenemos en la propiedad con mitad duras y mitas blandas e igual que las almohadas son duras y otras muy suaves. Lamentamos no saber esto en su momento de lo contrario lo habríamos cambiado a otra habitación con la característica que deseaba.

I highly recommend Residencia Sofia for anyone who is looking for a great and afforadble extended stay (2-4 weeks or longer), better than many Airrbnb stays that I looked at! The staff is very friendly and the manager, Jesus, keeps everything running smoothly; Jesus emailed me 3 times a week before my arrival, with helpful information. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, with many tree-lined streets; speed bumps keep the traffic calm; there is a nice 8-block-long park just 1 block north of the hotel; it's close to shopping, supermarkets, bank ATMs, and about a 15 minute walk to the historic city center. Residencia Sofia has multiple wifi access points, it never disconnected in 2 weeks, I never had a problem when I streamed videos. Whenever I return to Queretaro, this is the place I will stay!

reception area not always physically occupied. most conversation via whatsup which is not always easy. apartment had some issues: hair dryere not working, iron missing location is very quiet - 15 min to walk to main downtown plazas.

Nice BnB in residential area near centre
BnB style hotel in a residential location a 10 minute walk from the historic centre. Rooms are large and comfortable. Management is pleasant and keeps out of your way.

This is a decent hotel, but the listed rating of 4,8 is a big, BIG exaggeration and really misleading. The rating should be 3.7-3.8 the most. Hotel is in a modest residential area, nothing interesting around. The 25 min. walk to Colonial Center is through the streets which do not look too good, are barely lit and ere empty after dark.Not advised to walk there. The biggest issue however is the HEAT in the rooms at night. The rooms have really low ceiling (maybe 6.5-7 ft), and warm up pretty quick when people are inside. There is NO Air-conditioning. The only ventilation, a window, is to the internal patio, which is small and covered by glass roof. Fundamentally this is “greenhouse”. Queretaro has a mild weather, 85F in the day (Summer) and 70-65F at night, but for the rooms without any opening to the outside, it take many hours to cool off. The temp in room is 80-85F most of the night, it is v. difficult to sleep. I was waking many times at nigh, sweating. I guess, most hotel’s tourists are from other areas in Mexico, where now (Summer) is much warmer, so they do not mind this heat at night. But for US and European tourist it is a major problem. I do NOT recommend this hotel for any US, or European tourist, until they install A/C in rooms.

Great city and good accommodation.
We received a warm welcome from the owner and he was kind enough to let us stay on in our room when one of us did not feel well on the day of departure. The rooms were of good quality and spacious. They were fitted with traditional furniture, which added character to the property, which is actually quite modern. The residencia is located in a no-through road, outside what you might call the inner ring road of Queretaro. This makes it secure and peaceful but it also requires a twenty minute walk into th historic centre. As Queretaro is a beautiful little city with a lot to see and a lively night life, some people might find this a drawback but, if you enjoy walking off a meal, it is no problem. The only weaknesses we found were that the television did not work properly and the tea and coffee that were advertised as being available never appeared. We were also kept awake on the first night by a group who arrived very noisily by car on the Friday night, spent a long time checking in and then headed out after midnight to enjoy the nightlife. That was fine for them but it would have helped if the reception could have reminded them that there were other guests present. Al in all, though, it was a very good experience and Queretaro is great city with plenty of other magical ones just an hour away by bus. We would certainly recommend the Residencia Sophia as a good place to stay.

Great service! The front desk person was very attentive and helpful. It is in a good location. However, it is pretty noisy at night, although the fan inside the room helped. We also came back around 3:30pm one day and they had not yet cleaned the room.

My checkin was a little confused because the guy did not get my name ok and he said he had not any booking with my name eventhough I gave him the booking confirmation number and he make me call tripadvisor to complain, till I send him the email confirmation and there he could confirm my name and then everything was OK.The place very nice and conformable, just the bed was tooooo hard.

Nice hotel, very quiet, great food at El Pata
Very nice very clean hotel. It was a little further from the historic center but I should have known that by the distance from the landmarks on the map. Domingo recommended a great eating place...El Pata just a few blocks up and to the right of the hotel. Great food, fast service, great prices. The room always looked spotless after we returned from a day of sightseeing.

We liked this hotel very much. It is not fancy, but very homey, clean and comfortable. Everyone was so helpful and nice, and they went out of way to give information and work with you. There were several nice courtyards spread throughout the hotel, so many rooms had views onto the courtyards. It was a reasonable walk to El Centro, the Alameda and the Aquaducts. Felt very safe walking. Easy to get in and out with car. Close to transportation. We definitely will stay again. Parking was inside a gate, but car would have been safe on street.

They really do make you feel at home. It is a smaller inn, only about 9 or 10 rooms I think. The rooms are spacious and clean. Free Wifi. It was raining heavily with thunder storms half the time, and when we arrived at night, the power was out about 3 of those nights. Well, even though we we arriving regularly around 11pm, they would wait for us, to walk to our room with a flashlight, had candles already in the rooms, and credited us one night for the inconvenience. They had great recommendations for us to restaurants within walking distance. Centro is about a 15 minute walk. But right around the corner there will be 3 great food places. Tacos el Pata, a pozole place, and a great little breakfast place where you can get chilaquiles or eggs cooked to order, cafe de la olla and orange juice for $30 pesos. Would definitely stay here again.

I needed a hairdryer. The app says there is one. There was none in the room and no one answered my message, so i went to bed with hair wet. The lightbulbs are cold hospital lighting, so Jesus was kind enough to change them to warm bulbs for me! So sweet! The app says it has a jacuzzi tub but there was no water in it. They said theh can only fill it in warm weather months. Oops. I was excited about it. The window shades are water damaged and things are a little run down, but there was parking as advertised and nice service from Jesus. Tacos el Pata up the street for dinner.
