"Concierge lady was not friendly and nor welcoming, but did successfully checked us in. Even after we asked for a room cleanup, we still saw an old towel and some dirt on the floor. Otherwise, view from room was good - had a good view of the bund, though not the Pearl tower. "
"
The staff are generally nice, but I had a very bad experience with the laundry service.
I checked out today and shall talk to them again with the issues through third parties.
I asked the laundry room to clean a small pack of my baby’s clothes. The staff recommended that I leave the clothes with them so they could take care of it. I confirmed this with them twice. However, they asked my wife to sign a blank form, and later they charged us 1,800 RMB (about $300) just for washing a small bag of baby clothes.
This was a terrible experience. I asked in advance three times about the service, but no one told us how much it would cost. Instead, they had my wife sign a blank form and only showed us the bill afterward.
I will speak with them to discuss and resolve this issue."
"The toilet flushing is not strong and can choke easily.
The concierge reluctant to help in booking cab via his Didi app despite we assure him that we can pay in cash. Instead he keeps recommending private can that charge exorbitant rate."
"Great location, sitting close to a neighborhood with lots of activities and shopping options! The staff in the hotel were very friendly. Nice breakfast covered by the reservation."
"Great hotel to stay at. Nanjing road one block away. Subway line 2 close by and a short walk to the bund.
Hotel amenities were great with a nice buffet breakfast."
Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel on the Bund by Nanjing Road
10/10 Excellent
"Staff were very helpful, pleasant & welcoming. The hotel is next to YuYuan garden, lovely area with lights in the evening, lots of shops nearby for meals & other shopping. Central convenient location for other sights.
The hotel is very clean, our stay of 2 nights was pleasant & comfortable. Robot delivered coffee pods for the keurig coffee machine when we ran out. I would definitely return to stay on our next visit to Shanghai. "
"The luxury you expect with welcoming and accommodating touches that go above and beyond. The most comfortable bed we have ever slept on in a hotel, hands down. The views are incredible; the location is in the middle of it all and yet a step removed enough to find peace instantly. "
