"This hotel was in a great location for all we wanted to see while in Portsmouth. The coach and rail are both walkable and the Victory and other museums were closeby. The Gunwharf Quays are within walking distance too for shopping and food.
The hotel was okay for the price. Our room wasn't the cleanest and there was mold in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet left much to be desired but maybe would have been better if we were there for the start of it.

"Really pleasantly surprised by our stay at Holiday Inn. Was expecting budget, but was really nice. Easy locatltion from train station (6 mins in a taxi), easy walk to the Cathedral where we were visiting for an event. Staff were friendly, hotel was clean, tidy and modern. Had a drink in the bar; good selection, polite staff. Had breakfast jn the morning; variety of foods and drinks (even had decaf which is great). Would return ajd recommend "
"No complaints. It's an Ibis so you know what to expect, but the bed is comfy, the location was convenient, and the room clean.
My only comments were we had issues with some TV channels, but it was the morning when checking out, so not a big deal. However, it would have been nice for the bar to be open to maybe midnight, or a little later, so when you get back, the option is open if you fancy another drink."
"Stunning room, clean, spacious and the bathroom was out of this world, great view, staff were so friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely top marks, couldn’t fault my stay there and I’m definitely going back very soon, well done Ship Leopard hotel. Many many thanks "
"The room was originally quite underwhelming.
Parts of the hotel are in desperate need of being refurbished.
But they moved me to a different room, and I was very happy with it. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable.
The breakfast was not included, but well worth the cost. There were plenty of warm options, and they were all delicious - a true English breakfast.
The location is ideal, just a short walk to the naval museum and Gunnery Quays.
The staff was also friendly and accommodating.
I would happily stay there again."
"We had a wonderful stay at Bury Villa in Gosport! The house looked even grander in person than in the pictures, and there were some lovely touches on check in that really showed care - dining table already laid out beautifully, folded towels on the beds like swans, that sort of thing! Everyone in our group slept very well and had no complaints about anything. The beds and living areas were all very clean and comfortable; kitchen was spotless and extremely well appointed for a large group. The fact that there is a bathroom/toilet for every bedroom was excellent too. We were very happy with everything! We had no issues with the stay, communication, and service on the run up to our stay was great and helpful, the team could answer any question very quickly, the handover/check in process was conducted in person and helpful. One thing to be aware of is the size of house and number of bathrooms - if everyone staying wants to shower in morning or at night that's a lot of hot water demand so I would suggest if staying here to put the heating on well ahead of when needed and to plan ahead and stagger when guests are using baths & showers so that they are all nice and hot for everyone. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!"
Windward Retreat - an apartment that sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom
8/10 Good
"The property is beautifully appointed and in an ideal location for a sea view and a short walk to some great restaurants. Likewise it is a short drive to Gosport with easy access to car parks and cheap foot passenger ferry across to Portsmouth's Gun Wharf Quays complex. The booking process was easy and communication with the hosts chosen agents is excellent - very easy to check in and out by means of a key safe on the outside of the property. The television is a smart tv which asks you to input your check in and out dates so your apps when logged in (Netflix, Prime, BBC iPlayer etc) automatically log out on departure so youre not left logged in - nice touch. The only points preventing a full five star rating are minor but worth noting.1. There is no free onsite parking. You can pay and display (valid 10am - 6pm) which for the day is approx 10 or the agents can arrange parking at 10 p/d nearby. There are streets nearby where you can chance free parking but theyre residential, fill up very quickly and on my trip a resident questioned whether I lived in the street. Not a showstopper but worth knowing.2. The accommodation does not have an oven. It does have a small induction hob (although this is almost directly under the wall mounted boiler), toaster and a microwave oven. This was fine for my visit as I ate out during the day and evening and only used the kitchenette for breaakfast and hot drinks. All in all a lovely clean property in a great location at a reasonable price."
