Great rooms and breakfast, the hotel was charming and quite beautiful. The gated parking was €13 a day and was super convenient. We opted for a room with a terrace which was only about €10 more a night and it was SO worth it, as it overlooks the city and makes for an incredible sunset view. All in all, an amazing and affordable place to stay in Porto and would absolutely stay again!

LOVELY staff. The place is old. It’s a worn down, no frills, 2 star hotel-but the staff and overall experience were really great. Quiet neighborhood and close to many bus stops. Fairly clean even though things looked and felt dingy-er. Simple hotel breakfast, nothing fancy. Honestly this hotel is considered much lower quality than the others my partner and I stayed at during our 3 week trip in Portugal and Spain. But it was our second most favourite. Not sure how to describe it but it just had a sprinkle of magic to it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rex. The hotel is in a beautiful heritage building, but the facilities are modern and comfortable. The staff was helpful and welcoming. It's located in a quieter area, but a very short walk to all the action. We will stay here again.
