Perfect location just a :05 minute walk from Sao Bento train station and under :15 walk from most city tourist sites. Large apartments with small kitchen, and only 8 units in building. Front desk staff was great, and helpful with restaurant recos too.

Our stay at Olives Nature

Our stay at Olives Nature was good. The appartement is well equipped (except no toaster and freezer) and clean. There’s not always someone at the front desk but they can be reached pretty easily with the contacts number provided at arrival. Please notice that the apartments are on a big hill street so if you travel with young children, a stroller or if you are have a disability, it can be difficult to reach since you have to climb back the street from the historic center. Also, this street is closed / under construction (at the moment), so it can be a bit difficult to be reached by car.

I wish there was a dresser in the room. The mattress on the sofa bed also needs to be replaced as it's completely sunken in and very difficult to sit on without sloping downwards. There needs to be a stronger lighting in the room as well. Finally, there was no full length mirror in the room either.

Excellent location but a few things to improve

No one at reception when I arrived. Tried phoning the numbers on the window but they weren’t recognised. Got in when another guest let me in. Receptionist came a minute later. Room surprisingly big and well equipped. Matress was far too soft for my liking and the floorboards creaked so anytime anyone moved upstairs you heard it meaning a disruptive nights sleep. Some washing up liquid and a cloth would have been a good idea.

The location is awesome and close to train and bus stations. Just beware that the floors are really creeky and loud so it's not a great choice for light sleepers.

Incredible bang for your buck!

Excellent stay at Olive Nature. Friendly and very helpful staff. Good location near many of Porto's sites to see, plus the Sao Bento train station. The apartment itself was extraordinary. Such a night's stay would easily cost $200+ in the US, not the $68 I paid. It felt very modern, clean, fully-equipped. The breakfast is nothing very special, your basic continental breakfast. Plenty of international news and movie channels on the TV and excellent wifi.

Saturday night the club next door started playing loud music at 7 pm and it continued until 6 am the next morning. Yes, 6 am. It was so loud I couldn’t sleep. Don’t stay on the weekends. Only one small window and it was too high on wall to see out. Lighting is very dim. Depressing atmosphere. Also I worried that in the event of a fire there was no way out. I was on the fourth floor and had to walk up one flight. Elevator only goes to third floor and no stairs or fire escape out from the fourth floor. I also don’t see any way out on the third floor. Given the very old building, it was a concern. Also receptionist was supposed to be there from 9 am to 9 pm but wasn’t at times. Sure glad my key worked to get into building and room. Left several days early because of the concerns, dim lighting and noise.
