Unfortunately we only were here 2 nights. The accomodation is wonderful and so is the staff. We had a room to the garden with a balcony, it was very quiet, at the same time central. Bus from the Airport stops immediately in front of accomodation, the bus back is only a few minutes to walk. Thank you for this nice time we could enjoy at your place.

I paid extra to overlook the garden - which was quiet and beautiful, well worth it. The front of the Guesthouse overlooks a hospital and, currently, building works. The location was good and felt very safe. Easy to walk everywhere. The ambience and character of the Guesthouse were fabulous - felt palatial and gorgeous.

DELIGHTFUL (BUT NO LIFT)

Menina Colina is well-located for tourists, near the town centre and some good restaurants (Assador tipico for real Portuguese cuisine). Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Bear in mind that the three floors are reached by a grand staircase without a lift. (Help is available on arrival and departure). A delicious breakfast is personally served from 8am (arrangements were made for 7:30 one morning but it is not standard). Lunch is also available. Every day there is a Fado concert at 17:30 with a discount for guests, highly recommended. Overall better suited to quiet tourism than a business trip. A delightful experience.

Lovely

The Menina Colina Guesthouse is the epitome of lovely. It was a family home, beautifully converted to a guesthouse. There is a charming backyard where you can enjoy a coffee or wine. Breakfasts were ample and quite good. The highlight of our stay was the friendly, gracious, and helpful staff. The only possible problem would be for someone who has difficulties with stairs, or with walking uphill to the guesthouse. I highly recommend it.

Historic Chic Family-Friendly Authentic

Amazing guesthouse, beautifully restored 1840’s home with a garden out back. We stayed with family friends; we both have 11 year old sons who loved hanging out in the garden. The gentleman who served breakfast was so gracious and warm: a real delight every morning. Definitely do add the breakfast to your reservation: it was delicious and made from great ingredients by a chef with a deft hand. Our breakfast host handled the boys, hungry and still developing table manners, with humor and generosity. Our room was beautiful and gave a sense of the spirit of the place. Air conditioning was heavenly and room service was nicely done and appreciated. Thank you to the owners for putting the time and investment into this special house. We appreciated your thoughtful and hard working staff. We will enjoy the nightly fado when we stay there next!
