I always stay at this hotel anytime I visit Trinidad. It is very safe, luxurious and near downtown port of Spain. The staff are very attentive to the needs of the customers.
Very run down property outdated everything. We chose it based on location to the wedding we were attending. The pool was amazing and deep but tiles were missing and the swim up bar hasn’t been used in years… if you wanted a drink you walk up some stairs to the main bar. You can tell it used to be great. The staff were friendly but not helpful after hours.. no ice or water available after 10 beautiful view from the patio with no patio furniture etc. I don’t think our floors were swept the entire stay. Sadly would not recommend.
Toilet clogged early during stay and got progressive worse. Other that that the stay was excellent. Would stay again and recommend without qualification.
Our stay was very good, beds comfortable, bathroom clean and modern, nice view of the ocean and overall comfort with efficient service. Pool area a bit crowded as it's small but fantastic ocean view from the pool.
Lovely staff, good food, but expensive for rooms that were run down. Just a very souless place to stay. Came to clean out room about 5.30 when we were showering, one tea bag, 2 creamers! Not great.
Really nice hotel with, on the whole, great staff. Nice facilities although the pool deck needs some additional lounger covers and it would be nice if the bar served healthy food instead of the default burgers and deep fried stuff.
Staff was nice and the hotel was pretty much clean. One of my pillows did have a slight stale kind of smell and I do wish the room came with a microwave. However everything else was ok. I would stay there again.
My stay at the Hyatt in Port of Spain was horrible from the first moment we arrived and got worse by the minute:
Took an hour and a half standing in a short line to check in- took them 30 minutes or more to check one person in.
The carpet in the room was stained everywhere and looked disgusting. The service at the restaurant was non existent. Arrived at 8pm and was seated.. no one served us, we had to keep going and asking for help. Did not receive food until after 11pm! Found bugs in the room and Spock with front desk who said they would get back to us but of course no one did. Went out one day and returned to see our patio furniture was removed so we were not able to sit on the patio. Had to approach front desk several times to ask for the furniture back. It did arrive the next afternoon without any explanation or apology.
No one ever check on us when we were at the restaurant and it wasn’t even busy. Had to ask several times to receive assistance.
I am totally disappointed and embarrassed by the way this hotel is being run. Staff need to be trained on Customer Service!!!
