Plympton is home to 9 lodging options bookable on Expedia but not many designated as historic hotels.
What are the most important historical sites and other places to visit in Plympton?
A couple of favourite places to visit are Plympton Swimming Pool and Delta Force Paintball Plymouth. You'll also find Saltram House and National Marine Aquarium in the area.
What is a historic hotel like in Plympton?
A historic hotel gives guests the chance to stay in a building that has been officially recognised with a historic designation. Around the world, historic hotels can be castles, palaces or even pubs or old police stations — any place of special interest. Historic hotels in Plympton often retain original qualities such as period features or traditional architecture in their public spaces or guestrooms.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
The two are similar. "Historic hotel" is a term often used in the US, whereas "heritage hotel" is common in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to place more significance on the physical building and architecture. A heritage hotel draws meaning mainly from the cultural value and how it inspired the surrounding community.
Do historic hotels in Plympton have modern facilities?
Yes, efforts are made to preserve the historic aspects and traditions, but interiors include modern conveniences and safety features. Tourists who book a stay can expect the amenities you'd find in a hotel such as private rooms with updated bathroom facilities, heating and air conditioning, and free and fast Internet. Booking a historic hotel in Plympton doesn't mean you're choosing a place that's uncomfortable for guests or simply rundown.
