Pinchollo is a small, traditional Andean village located on the edge of the Colca Canyon. The village centre, around the main square (Plaza de Armas), is where you'll find the local church, a few small shops, and guesthouses. It's a compact area, making everything easily accessible on foot. From here, you're also well-positioned for exploring the canyon's viewpoints.

For couples seeking a quiet and authentic experience, staying in a guesthouse in Pinchollo is ideal. It offers a chance to experience local culture and hospitality, with many accommodations providing stunning views of the canyon right from your window.

The best time to visit Pinchollo is during the dry season, which runs from May to November.

This period offers consistently clear skies and comfortable daytime temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the Colca Canyon's natural beauty. It's also the best time for outdoor activities like hiking and wildlife spotting. While nights can be cool, the pleasant days more than make up for it.

For travellers keen on hiking and experiencing the canyon's trails, this dry window is perfect. The paths are generally well-maintained and less slippery, offering a more enjoyable and accessible trek to viewpoints and local villages.

Wildlife enthusiasts will also find the dry season particularly rewarding.
