Run by a lovely, attentive family. Bit off the beaten track but that's one of its charms and well worth the trouble. Beautiful hotel, exquisite room and the best breakfast we had in three weeks of travel through Italy, France and Spain!

One of the best choices we made to stay that night. The staff were very friendly and everyone was very professional. The food at the restaurant is amazing. Even if you are not staying, this is a wonderful place to have a delicious dinner with a special person. Highly recommend it.

Very pleasant stay. Room was very clean and comfortable and the grounds were very nice to sit outside and relax. Staff was friendly and the restaurant had a quality breakfast and dinner as well

Ideal ferry stopover
Good location for ferries from Santander. Nice ambiance, friendly staff. Great food in the restaurant. Very happy with our stay. Larger towels would be an improvement for this hotel.

Quaint castle style get away
Special place to stay in a “castle” style accommodation with a bistro style restaurant. Gardens and terraced area. Buffet breakfast and free parking. Restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday evening- would have been good to know this in advance- we assumed it would be open. Did walk (30 minutes) to a recommended restaurant. Found a little supermarket / garage for late night snacks. Conveniently located to visit Santander, Torrelavega and beach at Liencres. Toiletries, spacious en-suite, air conditioning, hairdryer, spacious room with although tiny window very much in keeping with a castle feel. Buffet breakfast was fruit, boiled eggs, salami and cheese, toast, croissants and cake. Coffee machine with good choice of coffee. Nutella and honey. 24 hour manned reception.

Romantic Getaway
We loved the hotel and its majestic look. Very clean rooms, quiet hillside location, and easy access free parking. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was excellent. A one-of-a-kind romantic getaway hideout for couples!!

A very comfortable one-night stopover on arrival in Spain from the Santander ferry driving south. The owner and staff were really helpful with advice on my onward travel across the mountains due to the recent snow.

Enjoyable stay just outside of Santander
Very enjoyable stay. The staff went out of their way to help out. The facility has the feel of being at a small summer palace. Excellent lunch, I decided to stay for dinner and that was excellent also. I used it as a base to visit the Altamira Cave Museum and explore the local area on my bicycle. I hope to enjoy staying there again. Not much to do locally.

superb! probably the best hotel in the region
Free parking. hotel in excellently restored mansion. interior decoration top notch. super clean, super spacious. service could not be better. really enjoyed my stay and an excellent breakfast to boot. 10/10 will stay again.

Friendly yet stylish stop off the trail
At 20 mins from ferry this is a welcome first stop when driving through Spain or prior to boarding. The hotel is newly refurbished to an excellent degree throughout. evening meal was found in a very authentic and friendly restaurant 10 mins walk whilst the continental buffet was varied and delicious. The staff could not have been more welcoming.

Great relaxing stay
We stopped here on our drive across northern Spain as a nice place to relax and rest for the evening. It was far more than we expected, a gorgeous and relaxing atmosphere. We booked the Jr. Suite and it was perfect, a huge room with sitting area and bed also a big bathroom with both jetted tub and separate shower. The hotel itself is a beautiful old palace, very well restored in a clean modern way while still retaining the soul of the old building. The staff was incredibly nice and made sure to let us know that if we needed anything they were happy to help. They have no restaurant but there is one just down the street. They do offer a continental breakfast, which had fresh fruit, bread, and some jamon, all were great and the attendant also got us some fresh squeezed OJ and I'm pretty sure she went and squeezed it just for us. What they do have is a beautiful bar next door that offers some cold tapas and great drinks, we had a couple of vermouths and relaxed on their quiet patio and it was incredibly peaceful. The location is very quiet, it seemed to be just a tiny town, in a very nice area. not sure there is much to do, but we found a small market and saw some restaurants around as well. For us, it was perfect as we wanted just a quiet relaxing place to lay our heads! We are already looking forward to our next stay if and when we ever get back to the area! The treatment from the staff, the bartender and a gentleman I think may have been the owner were all incredible.

Un buen lugar. En las fotos salieron unas habitaciones preciosas Si hubiera que poner un "pero" fue que no había bombilla en la lámpara del cuadro y que el agua de la ducha a veces te quedabas helado.

Valoración global: excelente.
El Hotel es muy bonito y las instalaciones muy limpias con un jardín muy cuidado. Cenamos allí y estuvo todo sobresaliente, nuestras felicitaciones al chef y a los camareros que nos atendieron estupendamente en todo momento. Pf: sería ideal añadir una mesita auxiliar a las habitaciones donde poder tomarse ahí el café.

Voy con reserva con desayuno confirmada por hoteles.com y no solo no me lo dan sino que hasta pone en duda lo que digo y le enseño por escrito, hoteles.com Gold ni me contestaron hasta el día siguiente , un desastre , desayuno en panadería del pueblo de al lado muy bien de casualidad

Excelente en todos los sentidos. Bien ubicado, a 20 minutos del puerto de Santander, a 10 de la playa y de la montaña. El restaurante es excelente a relación calidad/precio difícilmente superable. El servicio/trato excelente. Vine por trabajo, volveré por ocio.

La experiencia ha sido increíble. Consideramos que debe ser la mejor opción de la zona. El hotel es muy bonito y muy tranquilo, con una acceso muy cómodo desde la autovía y un parking muy amplio. Además, la atención de todo el personal del establecimiento fue exquisita. Por la mañana, el desayuno y el servicio fue como estar en casa. Si volvemos a la zona, no dudaremos en volver a alojarnos en este establecimiento.
