The kitchen, though large enough, is a bit of a mishmash and the original part distinctly off-putting. The stone sink, though an interesting piece of history, looked a health hazard, so it and the adjacent work surface were not used. The whole house was OK but far from super clean on arrival and it is probably hard to make it so. The house has clearly seen many extensions/changes over the years, with attendant plumbing idiosyncrasies, but for the first five days of our holiday, before a plumber changed some pipework and the vacuum truck paid a second visit, we had blowback of foul-smelling water in two parts of the kitchen when the showers were used.
