The Hotel Marena delivers more than enough for what you pay for. As a 3 star hotel, you can't expect the world. It needs some renovation, the communal areas are a little run down. Our room (502, an attic style room) could have done with a new carpet (it was a little worn in places), but other than that, it was great for the price! The bathroom seemed recently redecorated and everything was spotless, props to the cleaners! The towels are nice and thick. The hair dryer isn't very strong - it did the job, but I've got fine hair and it took about 20 minutes to dry it. The bed was firm but comfy, there were two chairs, a small desk and a full length mirror in the room. No clothes rails or hooks and no safe. The room view down the road and over chimney pots is very sweet. We didn't notice any noise at night, but then we sleep with earplugs in. The walls seem a little thin, we could hear conversations in the hall way really clearly in the mornings. The reception staff are super helpful, and there at all hours! The area is absolutely fine, we (a male/female couple in our late twenties) felt perfectly safe wandering around in the evening. There are a few busy bars nearby, and one next to the hotel if you fancy a drink before bed. We didn't get up early enough to get down for breakfast. All in all, we'd come back 😊
