"We were in a bit of shock when we reached Cocomar. The pictures must have been taken years back as the rooms were rather worn out. We had to pay extra to upgrade to a suite because our original room was tiny and rather depressing. The room was smelly - probably not aired out enough. Beds in the suite were good size but squeaky and one had a whole under the mattress fixed with a cardboard. Breakfast is part of the deal, however, it’s basically the same food (a plate with rice, beans, scrambled eggs, toast and 2 pieces of plantains) every morning, unless you order from the menu and pay for it. The ad promotes “a private beach”, which is true, it’s beautiful but it is not recommended to swim there due to strong currents. Big bummer as you have to drive 45-60 mins to Quepos. The pool are and the hotel surroundings are very well maintained. Wifi worked perfectly, the staff were really nice and friendly but didn’t speak much English. "

It's best to just embrace that factor because if you're looking for a beautiful, off the beaten path stay with the highest quality staff this is your pick. We had a wonderful stay"

"This place was amazing. We had some trouble finding the house our first night (it was after dark and our cell phones completely lost service). We ended up driving back to the little bar/restaurant at the beginning of the peninsula and everyone was so nice and helpful. While I was contacting our host, one of the bartenders was calling neighbors to meet us on the road and direct us to the house. Everyone was so nice, friendly and helpful. We went into Parrita the next morning for groceries and got amazing fruit. Everyone was so wonderful and nice. The beach was incredible!! It felt like we had the peninsula to ourselves. The stars at night were breathtaking and we had fun searching for sand dollars (which we left :-). The house was perfectly located. We drove into Manuel Antonio National Park for a tour early one morning. It was nice to stay by Parrita because it wasn’t nearly as busy and crowded as the Quepos and Jaco areas. The peace, quiet and relaxation was worth the 45-60 minute drive. The pool out back was a lifesaver. My daughter was in it every morning by 7am and in it until 7pm lol. We would have stayed a few extra days if our travel schedule allowed. The house was super clean, comfortable and had all the necessities we needed for making food, doing laundry and relaxing. This house was perfect and we would 100% stay again. "

"The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. This was a family trip and unfortunately my father got ill (stomach bug). The staff were so helpful and accommodating to his needs. This place is perfect for a peaceful and quiet getaway. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. We even got some coconuts cut for us. I recommend this place for those who want peace and quiet. The beach was empty when we went which was perfect for us. The food was 10/10. Breakfast típico with fresh juice every morning. We even got to feed the monkeys. They were very friendly. We purchased their lunch and dinner as well. 10/10. Overall, despite my father being sick, this was still a memorable experience. All thanks to the staff! Also, the closest market is about a 15 min drive. I recommend taking waters or any other snacks, fruits. There is a fridge big enough to fit beverages and food. They have an outdoor grill as well if you take food to cook. (The staff offered to cook it for us but we didn’t take any food). We will definitely return again!"

"Our stay was amazing. We enjoyed Playa Bejuco everyday, usually in the evening. The location made it easy to get to Manuel Antonio, and other local attractions. Markets were readily available, the kitchen is well stocked if you want to cook; or there are plenty of local restaurants. Cindy helped us organize a cooking class in her home. Luis was great, as well. We saw amazing bird life, and plenty of iguanas, and even white faced monkeys…right from the pool. Cindy had a lot of games, as well. (Even a new one (for us) that we will order when we get home.)"
