"Decent hotel"

"Historic hotel and near everything you need. Room was in such bad condition the hotel refunded the valet parking and half my stay. Exterior window frame so broken you couldn’t close the window, bed linens made up with badly stained duvet, pen scribbles on the walls, bathroom was dirty with vent so clogged with dirt it didn’t work…left with a written apology from the hotel. At $500+ a night it should have been much nicer… Staff were lovely and helpful. Zoe’s breakfast was ok. Parking was frustrating - valet was $70 a night If I’d have been in the city more those two days I’d have found a better place. If you go here, get a full suite or don’t bother. The chain hotels at a mid price point as just as good. "

"The room was as expected for a hotel of this level and we enjoyed the Options Jazz Bar on Saturday night, but i feel like the positives ended there. The pet policy was very restrictive almost to the point of being ridiculous. A $250 cleaning fee held on my credit card on top of the $25/pet/day plus a no barking policy... My poor pups were anxious for our whole stay because we took all precautions to jeep them from reacting to people passing in the hallway. My room choice on hotels.com was for 2 queen beds but when I checked in they said my reservation was for a king bed, so we paid $15/day for a rollaway cot. The other unfriendly fee was the $20/day for parking which they charged because they could. The hotel is not in a busy downtown, but in a quiet office building area of a suburban neighborhood My takeaway from staying at Brookstreet ia dobt be fooled by the per night fee shown as there are many fees that will be added to make them more expensive than the other hotel you're considering. This was our first and last stay at this hotel that's far from the action in Ottawa and will charge you enough additional fees to make the nightly fee more than reasonable for the location. "

"Room is spacious, clean, bed is comfy. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Only downside is that too many people at breakfast and not enough seating - was chaotic and this was my 2nd stay here and same issue. Later evening parking not available underground as usually full quickly and parking available in convention center parking lot and no cost. Just make sure you register your car so no surprises. "

"The room was not very clean for a hotel of this price. One area of the carpet was wet, not sure whether it was from a pipe leaking in the floor or something similar. It was 1 °C outside that night, and the room had no heating. The bed had a light comforter, and additional blankets were nowhere to be seen. Overall, very disappointing experience. "
