"This place is immaculate. The host is genuine and so kind. Very peaceful and calm during the night. And free to enter and exit as you please. The living room and kitchen are super welcoming and spacious for everyone—you're free to use the kitchen like it's your own, and there's plenty of room to hang out. "Super cool location - that’s what you would go here for right now. As reviews say, it’s a hotel that looks like its glory days were in the past and it’s waiting for some love. The staff (restaurant and front desk) weren’t super helpful, not sure what that was about. Not horrible, but I booked through Expedia a Fortress room, and the girl at the front desk moved me to the Guicho side (room 59). The room with the cracked window another reviewer mentioned. Not sure why she did this, but when I went back and asked nicely about it she moved me back to the Fortress side (room 25). These numbers were actually on my room card, scratched out, then scratched out again when I asked to be moved back. Saw both rooms and the Fortress room bathroom was definitely older but decently clean. A little bit of smell at times….maybe something from older pipes…..but not horrible if you aren’t too fussy and I felt the HUGE room and entryway and king bed and balcony and windows overlooking the pool and fortress walls and crashing waves more than made up for any wear and tear. I stayed two nights with a car (parking was fine but I came in later both nights and had no problem finding a spot) at the end of my trip around Portugal and it was exactly what I wanted. Beautiful views, amazing sounds from the ocean. Totally relaxing. Had dinner at the restaurant one night and it was average. Service very slow but only one staff so I get it. "Wonderful Stay at Manelisa Cascais – Exceptional Hospitality! We had a wonderful stay at Manelisa Cascais! Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. What truly made our stay exceptional was the kindness and hospitality of our host. On the last day of our visit, we experienced a medical emergency, and she went above and beyond to help us. She accompanied us to the hospital, helped with translation, and guided us through the entire process. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help during such a stressful time meant so much to us, and we are incredibly grateful. She also provided us with helpful recommendations for places to visit and things to do in the area, making our stay even more enjoyable. We cannot thank her enough for her outstanding hospitality and genuine care. We highly recommend Manelisa Cascais and would gladly stay here again!"
