This was a last minute reservation as the original stay got cancelled. Overall it met our needs. When the listing said Murphy bed I assumed it meant second bed but it was the only bed. When down it makes the room more crowded than a regular hotel room. The shower valve was broken and they tried a quick fix which didn’t work so we could not shower. The Internet was up and down and would work on some devices but not others. On the plus side the AC kept the room comfortable and the kitchenette was well stocked and met our needs. Staff was pleasant and friendly but could not do anything to resolve the issues with the room during our two night stay.

A bit dated room but good location. Amenities are great and beach access was very close.

The location is great, the staff was very helpful, the room was clean and had plenty of space. Unfortunately the room we were in didn't look quite like the pictures and had a full wall of 4" louvre windows, which provide no insulation against sound or temperature. There was so much noise (AC, street traffic, people talking, bar music, trash trucks and more) going ALL night that we got less than an hour of sleep.

Overall, we had a good stay and would consider staying here again. The hotel is in a great location, close to the action in Waikīkī and within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and attractions. We appreciated that hot coffee and cold water were always available in the lobby, the rooms were clean and well maintained, and the elevators were fast and efficient. During our stay, the hotel also hosted a complimentary wine and cheese event with a hula dancer, which was a nice touch. There were a few downsides: The rooms are somewhat dated and could use some refreshing. Also, housekeeping is only provided for stays of five days or longer. The most frustrating part of our stay involved the laundry facilities. The coin machine was out of order, so we went to the front desk to ask for quarters. We were told rather bluntly that the hotel does not provide change. After spending quite a bit of time trying unsuccessfully to get quarters from nearby businesses, we returned to the lobby and asked a different employee. Without hesitation, they exchanged bills for quarters and even had plenty available behind the desk. While we were grateful for the help, it left us confused as to why the first employee told us it was absolutely not possible. The inconsistency in service was disappointing and created an unnecessary inconvenience. Despite that experience, the location, amenities and overall condition of the property made for an enjoyable stay.

We loved that the room/condo was central located to walk everywhere. But we rented a car and had free parking in the garage as well. Smooth check-in. They let us check in early which was nice and quick as well. If you have a car make a stop at Walmart for groceries, it was nice to make our own meals at times in our room. Or take picnic lunches to go. Definitely check out Donut King down the street, the nicest people and amazing donuts until 9 pm. I am in love with their cro-nuts (croissant donuts). We loved our stay at the Royal Kuhio. Even did our laundry before heading home.
