Beautiful setting on Japan’s highest lake, over 4,000 feet above sea level. Classical Japanese architecture with spacious rooms, gorgeous views, delightful staff and great amenities.
Incredible, high class, quality accommodation and luxury cuisine. Kaiseki dinners were simply magnificent. Service was impeccable. Absolutely superb. Should really award 6 stars.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Service was amazing and rooms were the size of a small apartment. Only gripe would be that the pictures on expedia make it seem like you have unobstructed views of the lake. However, the room we were given you can only partially see the lake as there is another building in front of the hotel.
It’s a cozy place to stay. Very nice hot spring with only few people there in the winter. A little far from the station though, traffic is not that convenient.
Is a bit pricey, but still worth to stay with quality service and fine dining. It’s located besides the lake and offer 3 minute shuttle to the bus stop as well, such considerate even it’s close.
This was the first time we stayed at this hotel and we were truly amaze with the facility and the food. We stayed 2 nights and both days we were provided with an excellent selection of different food . The room was perfect, absolutely spacious with the lovely view of the lake which we can see right from our windows. We would stay again.
Great service, the staff were attentive and made sure we were well looked after. I liked that they provide a shuttle to the bus station despite the relatively short distance. The hot spring is a tad small but clean and puts you in a relaxing mood.
What I think could be improved: having more hooks and a towel rack in the bathroom.
The view from the hotel is awesome, the service of the hotel is exceptional, the food in the hotel is superb.
The best hotel that I had been to in japan. I love it so much that I miss it. Thank you
