We stayed for two weeks in October and had a wonderful time. Great communication, good price. Great neighborhood, very interesting and safe. Restaurants (Mekong, Cave Nature), bakeries, stores (le Shopping de Nat, Citadel Museum shop), and the sea are all within a five minute walk. Train eight, beach ten. Inside, the apartment looks exactly as photographed. The bed is listed both as a double and as a queen; it's a queen and very cozy in the little bedroom cave. The a/c worked well.
We did have to provide a lot of our own things, like hand soap, detergent for the dishwasher and laundry, paper towels, etc. There is a small grocery/convenience store very nearby (walkable).
Door and windows are very secure, double-paned with deadbolt locks--although again, neighborhood is nice and safe. Town is on a very steep hillside, so be prepared to climb. We are out of shape, 50 years old, and I'm overweight, but we were able to navigate by taking lots of climbing breaks (and showers).
More tourists than expected in Villefranche, even in the off season, due to being a cruise stop.
Streets near the apartment are pedestrian only, so walking around the village is fun. People do sit outside at their little tables all up and down the street.
Nice only two stops away by train. Mariner's Beach doesn't look like much but actually very nice for swimming, with clean public bathrooms. Loved la Trinquette jazz club.
Loved our stay and would happily return asap.
