The house was perfect for our family getaway. We all had our own bedrooms and bathrooms plus a great dining room table for games. The location worked wonderfully for sightseeing. We would definitely stay again.
We loved this location in Niagara. It's close to a small downtown area that is less touristy and was lots of fun to walk around. We were still close to the falls and all the tours, but it felt much more relaxed to be a short distance away. The house itself was so fun to explore when we first arrived. It was great to have enough beds and bathrooms for a mixed family group, and we really enjoyed ourselves!
Jade was very prompt with communicating and was also extremely accommodating! The home was clean and spacious as well. I would definitely like to return! Thank you jade!
This property is a great location. Quiet street and so close to the falls and town, you can walk. Lots of food places nearby.
The house was clean, everything worked well in it. Each room had a bathroom with or next to it. Plenty of hot water!
Linens and bedding were clean and smelled good.
Yes its an older home with many levels of floor, but very cool inside! Nine of us were comfortable, room to be together and room to spread out. All of us drove past the driveway the first time as there is lots of foliage. Parking will fit 4 cars.
Manager responded to questions immediately. I recommend this house.
Would 100% recommend this house , very old , beautiful and spacious property ! Check in was a breeze ! Rough 2 miles ( maybe less) from all the activist and the falls !!! A perfect place to be super close yet far enough the crowd didn’t affect anything !! The house was beautiful ! Everything was as original ad could be for a 1800s year old house … love the house and the owner, she lives next door and made check in check out and anything issue we had a breeze to deal with !! Only slight issue we could have face , was , they’re is another property on the back side of this , and you share the narrow drive way , wasn’t an issue at all for us. Thankfully ! But I would let that stop me from renting again , as the property owner sacrificed her personal drive way to accommodate our needs and the others !! Overall 9.5 out of 10 stars ! Would be 10 stars but no central air conditioning ( tho temps rarely get super hot ) unfortunately we were there when temps were well above average , but several window ac did the job ! Again 100 will rent again !!! Don’t be afraid rent away !!
Fun place to stay! We called it the Harry Potter House. Hosts right next door and very responsive. Perfect location to get to all the activities and restaurants close by.
This is the coolest house in the best location ! The house is a historic landmark and it is in absolutely fantastic shape. The yard is gorgeous and every room is clean and stocked, in addition to the really interesting and charming decor. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. Our group was only 6 people so we had tons of room!
The house was exactly what we wanted and needed. Enough room for all of us. It’s a bit of a walk to the falls but definitely do able. Any questions I asked the host got back to me within minutes. For a large group this house is perfect.
Beautiful cozy home. Plenty of space to spread out between the 8 of us. Location is close enough to walk to the falls but far enough to avoid the tourist noise, perfect!! Lovely communication with our host who made us feel very welcome and safe. Absolutely will look to stay here again for our next birthday celebration. Thank you so much!
Really a fun experience. We have never tried a house like this before. Everything is really well excuted as Victorian era. The house representative is really helpful and responsive. Perfectly safe and nice neighborhood. We walked to the falls or took an über. It is much cheaper than parking :-)
We had a great, five day stay. The house is a lovely historic property, with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, including a claw foot tub on the main level. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. There is also a large front porch with a lot of seating. The neighborhood is very quiet and is a short walk from a nice little Main Street with several restaurants (the diner was our favorite). Jade is a wonderful host. She is very responsive and helpful. We highly recommend the property and would stay there again.
Nice Old house. It is a bit tired but everything is in working order. The upstairs bathrooms were small especially the shower stalls. Adding some hand grab bars in the tub shower would have been appreciated as we did have one minor fall. Overall this was a very convenient location and we had a good time.
Communication was smooth. The house was beautiful with so much space. We loved the big table in the dining room. We played games and ate there. The 7 of us fit around the table with no problem. The Victorian style was a big hit with everyone. It’s decorated just right and not filled with knickknacks. Kitchen had everything we needed. The location was perfect. It’s close enough to walk for dinner and drinks. We ordered pizza and it was a 5 minute walk. We took advantage of the Wego bus as the stop was so close to the house. We did an adventure pack that we purchased and it included unlimited bus passes for 2 days. Would stay at this house again for sure!!
This historic house is just beautiful. So many details around the house that show respect for it's history. It's walking distance from the falls (about a mile), and less than half a mile from the original town of Niagara Falls. Parking close to the falls is pricy, so it's really nice to be able to walk. There is also free Wifi that worked well for all 5 of us. Jade did everything she could to help us have a great stay. We got in later than we expected, and she made it very easy for us to get our key, and get settled. She was prompt with responses to any questions I had, and followed up to make sure everything went well. She was kind, helpful, knowledgable, and available.I'd definitely recommend her as a host, and this property if you're heading out that way.
Beautiful old home with lots of character. The house is a little difficult to see due to the overgrown landscape. Surprisingly close to the falls but nice and quiet!
Pros:Great accommodation for a group to be together under one roof. Good location by car, but a little further from the action by foot. All the amenities worked well: TV, wifi, coffee maker, dishwasher, laundry.Abundance of dishes and cookware for making meals at the house. Cons: Locks need updating. They were Sticky and not overly secure. Toilets, showers and sinks were dated and very undersized. Shower curtains were grungy. Cleaning needed improvement, especially since there are fees charged for cleaning. To summarize: The Jewel of Niagara is a Hidden Gem, just needs to be polished a bit.
Property was very nice and 4 minutes from a WEGO bus stop to Niagara Falls which meant we didn’t have to pay $30 a day to park.
Communication with the owners was very easy.
The only reason we gave a 4 out of 5 review is because most of the windows couldn’t be opened due to the house being a heritage home. There are air conditioners in the bed rooms but the main level was a little too warm.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Not sure how this property got 9-10/10 reviews! The admittedly historic house is rundown, out-of-date & dirty. Kitchen had food residue on cabinets & counters and none of the tables were clean. Beds were aged, creaky, unlevel & uncomfortable. Bathrooms were haphazard & mold was clearly evident in the master bathroom sink. Lighting was poor and several cobwebbed fixtures had lightbulbs that were dead. Several windows were painted shut, others were unweighted & slammed down dangerously. No screens, so we had to kill mosquitoes before retiring; but several large fly swatters were available, which was odd at best. More concerning was the behavior of the host. He lives next door and was observed by our 20yo daughter staring into her bedroom window while she was getting dressed. He was also found standing in the driveway at 10:30pm when our son arrived. He was motionless and said nothing. The next morning he was seen peeping into the living room window from the porch, and when we caught him, he ran away. It gets worse: on the 2nd morning of our stay, we noticed that other people were clearly occupying an area of this home (that we rented!) behind a door labeled "private". There was also another car in the driveway. Apparently there was a 2nd living space, which had a door that accessed the rest of OUR house! Worst of all: several of our bedroom doors, that were closed when left, were open when we came back Fri evening. This is not a safe or as-advertised property.
