Disliked: Check-in, communication, location
Finding the property was confusing because the unit number wasn't immediately obvious. While I understand the information was included in the check-in instructions, it's easy for guests to overlook a detail like that when they're simply trying to locate the property after a long drive. We called the host for assistance, expecting a quick clarification. Instead of simply saying, "The unit number is..." we were repeatedly told to "keep reading" the email. For nearly two minutes, we were instructed to continue reading until we eventually found the information ourselves. The issue wasn't that the instructions existed; it was the way the situation was handled. The interaction came across as condescending and made us feel unwelcome before we had even entered the property.A simple improvement would be to place the unit number prominently at the very top of the check-in instructions so guests can find the property immediately without having to search through the rest of the message.The house itself was average, but it also wasn't as clean as we had hoped. The floors appeared dirty upon arrival, which didn't leave a great first impression.It's unfortunate because we genuinely wanted to enjoy our stay. Instead, after checking in, our first thought was about how soon we could leave rather than settling in and relaxing. Hospitality isn't just about providing a place to stay; it's also about making guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, that was missing from our experience.
