"We have stayed at the Hotel Edison a couple of times and enjoy it's central location and 'old school' NYC vibe. It's close to Times Square so you need to be prepared for some noise and crowded sidewalks, but the noise died down after 10 so didn't interrupt our sleep. The only negative for me this visit was that when we got there, there was a room ready but we still had to pay an early check in fee. It was only an hour before check in which seemed a little nit-picky. Normally, I wouln't have paid but we had been traveling for several hours. Kudos to thed doorman who valiantly (and successfully) tried to get us a taxi to Grand Central when all the cabs wanted to go to the airport."
