The room was clean, nice and comfortable. I appreciate the front desk giving ear plugs since there is a bar on the side that does play music most evenings. The day staff was very friendly and had good recommendations around the area. It had a great location in the middle of the city and walkable to all the big things you want to see on your visit.

This hotel was the perfect location for our first trip to Edinburgh as it was centrally located in the Old Town. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The only hiccup we had was they had turned on the heat for the season and because our first few days were unseasonably warm it made the room super uncomfortable. It also didn’t help that the windows barely opened although the concise staff did give us an extra fan. Also if you’re a light sleeper keep in mind that the pub below can get a little rowdy on weekends into the wee hours.

The property is very nice, in the heart of Edinburgh that is walkable to all the great sites.
We knew there was no lift, however, the 49 steps to our second floor room was a bit much especially when having to lug our luggage up the flight of stairs.
The washer in the room was great but the dryer was not efficient. The clothes never seemed to get dry and were damp. Perhaps written instructions could help instead of the QR code on the wall which didn't provide much detail on the functions of the appliances.
Finally, while there was lots of detergent for the washer and the dishwasher as well as coffee/tea supplies, there was not a single item supplied for cooking. No salt, pepper, cooking oil, simple spices, etc - very disappointing!
