"This hotel has a great soul but it is a little tired. The room was great and the bathroom was ok. I spent one night here after leaving Inverness as I used it because It was only an hour drive to the Edinburgh airport (I was driving there to drop off my rental car.) It was a 14 minute walk to downtown and I enjoyed the food at the restaurant/pub on site."

"This is truly a stunning property that is centuries old but in immaculate shape. The gardens are beautiful, their restaurant is fabulous, walking trails from the hotel make you want to stay longer. This property oozes charm and character. Staff is fabulous. This is truly a memorable hotel in the best sense of the word"

"Beautiful accommodation, tastefully decorated although a few small areas could do with a paint touch-up but this was only minor. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Lovely setting - even in the rain! It was a pity that the restaurant and bar weren't open every day but The Courtyard was just a few minutes' walk across the road which served food and drinks."
